  1. This place is so classic, it will definitely take you back to a time and place that's needs to be revisited. This place is such a landmark and I am pretty disappointed in myself that I have not come here more often, I live so close so I really have no excuse. It's so old school and I love it, the waiters are in tuxes, the service is polished and the atmosphere is great, you don't have to dress up, dress up but you should definitely come presentable. So a lot of people don't know but Corona used to be very heavily Italian, this is one of the few remaining restaurants left from that era that I hope stays for a very long time, it's kinda a Queens icon. The restaurant is three floors, recently my party occupied the third floor which is kinda dedicated to small parties, the first time I went, I went to the Garden Room and really loved the decor and atmosphere. FYI, the bread basket is awesome, don't get full on bread!

    The food:

Crab Cake- OMG, it was so awesome, it is on the pricey side but there was so much crab meat. I also think it is more of a crab cocktail than a crab cake, but this is a must get, regardless. The crab meat is so sweet and fresh and the fruit that accompanies it pairs really well. yelp.com/user_local_phot…

Mozzarella in Corozza- This is a really popular app and I really liked it, it's kinda like breaded pieces of pan seared mozzarella with marinara and some capers. This is great to share with 2 or 3 ppl since it is kinda rich, but the flavor of the mozzarella to the salty capers was great. yelp.com/user_local_phot…

Zuppa di Mussels Steamed Marinara Sauce. Holy crap, these were the biggest mussels I ever seen, they were huge! And the interesting thing, usually when you get a bigger mussel, you usually lose flavor but not here, the huge mussels were cooked perfectly and had so much flavor. I really liked them.

Sauteed Filet of Grey Sole Meuniere- White wine, lemon, capers. This is such a classic dish that a lot of older generation would go gaga over. It is an older generation dish but this classic has stood the test of time since it is so good. I think this is a must order, the sole was so insanely tender and delicate, the sauce was super old school with white wine, caper and lemon, it doesn't get any more classic than that and they do it great. yelp.com/user_local_phot…

Broiled Colorado Lamb Chops- These were great, I really enjoyed the lamb flavor of the chops and they were cooked perfectly. The lamb chops are a big dish and not sure if I remember correctly but I think this is a dish for two, but this is a must get. I also, really love their fried zucchini, they are cut into chips and are batter and fried, they were great. yelp.com/user_local_phot…

Italian Cheese cake- I really enjoyed their cheesecake, it was nice and rich and had really nice texture. I am usually not a fan of Italian cheesecakes since they can be grainy, but not, not the one here.

  2. We've been wanting to go to this place for years. The one time we tried they were fully booked and we just never tried again. We took our visiting cousins here upon their request. Also, RHONY's Bethenny Frankel brought the housewives here recently so I was definitely more interested lol. I made a reservation for 9:00 and we actually arrived late, but were seated immediately. They came immediately with water and to take drink orders. Then brought out complimentary appetizers galore which included bread basket, charcuterie plate, and corn (odd but yum). I only had the bread with the filling in it and it was good, so was the charcuterie plate. With all that, we felt like we didn't need an app. I have to say that the waiter did not come take orders for over 15 mins and we actually had to ask for him to order. So we ordered: steak, truffle mushroom fettuccine, seafood pasta, and veal marsala. I only got to try the steak and my truffle mushroom fettuccine. Both were great. The sides that came with the steak were yummy. My dish was yummo. Loved it. After dinner they bring a complimentary plate of biscotti and this yummy buttery pastry with cream cheese filling. We were very full but shared dessert anyway. I ordered pistachio tartufo and cousin ordered Italian cheesecake. Pistachio tartufo was ok and I'm not a cheesecake person but cousin liked it.

Great dinner, great service, great old school Italian atmosphere. I see why it's been around so long. Keep up the good work. Definitely coming back.

  3. We went here because IL triangolo was closed. The venue was cozy and quaint. The portions were hearty and food tasted good. My only issue was the price of our meal. A total of four came out 160. Four meals and one appetizer the with two desserts. It is hard to find good Italian food in this part of Queens so you get what you pay for.

  4. This is a hugeeee family favorite. I will give this restaurant credit for it's ambiance; I really like the garden room with natural lighting and the fact there are quite a few "rooms' with diff. vibes. I also really like that it is a more upscale atmosphere; the wait-staff are always dressed to a tee. Their bread basket (ham and bread little sandwiches omg) and their cheese platter (with salami, brushetta) is a really nice touch.

I highly recommend you make a reservation, although most times it does help, my most recent visit it did not. We were a table of 8 but had to wait a half-hour to get our table- what was the point of having a reservation? I think the food is okay, but I haven't found anything really unique that has caught my eye. I've gotten the chicken parm often while here and that's probably my favorite. I got carbonara on my last visit and it was flooded with creamy sauce and pancetta but no other toppings so it was a little too much after a few bites, but I still enjoyed it. The service was also slow when we were waiting for our check – I was surprised at least they don't try to rush you out.

I'd recommend this place for a family or special occasion. Nice, classy restaurant.

  5. Haven't been to Parkside in about 10 years. We used to go every July 4th, my birthday, because it was a good occasion restaurant and it was open on the holiday. We stopped because my grandmother wasn't happy with the service. We were worried about it happening again. We were seated quickly and given bread and bruschetta, which was delicious! Then it was over 15 minutes before we finally got a waiter to come over. We saw them around going to tables that were seated after us but passing us by.
Thankfully, once we found a waiter, he was great and so was the food. We will be back.

  6. Always want to love this place but just can't. Service is spotty.  Prices are high. Food is average. Cannot see why so many love it except maybe it's the nostalgia.  Good old Italian joint, used to be a hang out for family. Not sure about now.

Had soft shelled crabs recently. Maybe 5-6 on the plate. In butter, lemon and caper sauce that had absolutely NO flavor.  The crabs were minuscule in size and also has no taste. That was a waste
    of time.

Hubby had chicken scarpariello. It was good not great. Had better elsewhere. Friend had chicken parm. It was swimming in sauce.

Not a bad place but just average.

  7. I came here for dinner with my husband, his best friend and his girlfriend.  My husband and his friend both grew up in Corona and told me this restaurant was an old school Italian restaurant, one of the top 3 for Italian food in the city, and one of their favorite places to go.
We had a reservation at 8:30 and arrived early so my husband and I had drinks at the bar while we waited for our friends. The bartender was awesome, gave us a generous serving and was super helpful when I was indecisive on what I wanted to drink.

When we got seated we were given a giant bread basket, and a plate of cheeses and salami. We almost got full just eating that! We ordered and the food came out very fast. I had just a caesar salad with shrimp due to eating too much before dinner, my husband had the cheese tortellini alfredo, his best friend a veal dish and his girlfriend had chicken… The food was just amazing. The salad had such a hefty serving of jumbo shrimp! There was so much I couldn't even finish it. I snuck a few bites (ok…. half of his plate) of my husband's tortellini and wow, just simply amazing! After we finished the meal, I was eyeing the desert cart and just had to have their flan.  It was the best flan I ever had!

My husband and his best friend did not lie about this restaurant.  It is a hidden gem in Queens.  You must come here if you are in search of good Italian food.

  8. This restaurant is old world Italian.  They make their own wine which is delicious.  I had the chicken parmagian which was good.  It was a fun place to go.
