“Yeah, started with sushi and ended up with possibly the best Italian restaurant near or in the Theater District.”

“I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great meal in Times Square.”

“This place has genuine Italian food, no americanisms 😉 i.e. Pizza is done in the brick oven with thin bottom and high quality toppings.”

  1. Well I had eaten a few times at the one located on Queens Boulevard.Unfortunately this location is now closed,it was more convenient as far as distance is concerned.I was in the City a few weeks ago and decited to give this one a try.Though the food was okay the service was definitely NOT.I went for Lunch and understand that it was a crazy time to go but there is no excuse for the service to be so horrendous. So I will not be going back. They only get a 3 stars because of location That s about it.

  2. A friend and I found this place by accident after staying at a hotel very close by. We just wanted a pasta dish and sometimes with all the restaurants in NYC, you can easily get overwhelmed. The hotel recommended this, and off we went.

Truth is, we weren't expecting much, but we knew we could get what we had been craving. Surprisingly, the spaghetti bolognese was some of the best we've ever had. I have no idea what I had been eating from childhood until now, but this set a new standard to meat sauce, it was that good.

On subsequent visits, I have been back and I have yet to be disappointed. It's a decent standby, and I always know what I'm in for. The only thing that has changed over the years is the obvious: price. My goal here is to actually finish my meal since I always end up leaving a little more than I'd like.

I know people may complain how it's not authentic Italian food, well I guess I don't like authentic Italian food then.

  3. Came here for farewell to employee dinner (transfer). Group of 7, so mandatory Tipp. Waiters were reactive (slow) with  poor meal pacing- one water refill before the check came. Had to find waiter to pay after waiting 20 min with check. Cozy atmosphere. Food was pretty good. I would only come back if I thought it would be faster next time. 2.5 stars.

  4. This is my group's default business lunch spot. Semi-formal setting, I'm sure I like it though.
The basic Italian fare is lack of imagination. The small menu left us very limited options, and food was definitely over-priced.
With that said, things taste OK; the premium you pay is for the environment.

  5. On one hand, the host staff is compiled of some of the most ignorant people in the restaurant industry, but on the other, the waitstaff was incredibly friendly and patient. The food was pretty good, I had the whole wheat linguine with artichokes, sundried tomatoes, and garlic, in an olive-oil based sauce. The portion was huge, and had the takeout container not leaked, I would have had at least 3 meals out of it.

  6. Uuuuuuuh… Really, by American standards, not that good. More like frozen food. Quantity, fat and sugar, no taste at all. I think I got pastas.

Place ok, service ok. Prices: too high for what you get and about the price a regular meal in New York.

A few of my colleagues went there for the happy hour, but I think you can go somewhere else. Or try it just once, but not for food.

  7. Huge portions; pretty good place for lunch

    – Calamari- it was ok
    – Fried Mozzarella- it was ok
    – Linguine Vongole- not the best i've ever had but not bad either it was a HUGE portion though and i was full for hours
The clams were a mix of some still in the shell, but mostly minced; kinda weird for a mid-range restaurant.

Fairly reasonable prices- my vongole (it really could have fed 2 people) was $16.95

  8. I went here on Friday for a casual dinner around 6pm. It was not crowded,  so there was no wait. The heat was just right  as it was nippy outside and the Christmas decorations were tasteful;-)

I had the Cesar Salad and the Margarita Pizza. The thin crust, sauce and cheese were just right.  Usually I don't comment on the complementary bread, but this one needed a review because it was toasted and I love when I get warm bread and butter, it makes such a big difference.

The hostess and waiters were great ! In my book, Pasta lovers was Reasonable for the area , Comfortable because of decor and the large dinning area and yummy because the food was very tasty.
