  1. Amazing lavender latte.  The best lavender latte I've tried so far in the city! It was an explosion of flavors in my mouth: lavender, espresso, and milk with a good amount of sweetness.  The latte was very smooth and delicious!  I'm still thinking about it 2 days later!  I might just go out of my way to stop by every couple of days or so just to get a cup of the lavender latte.

  2. Whoo!!! Lavender Latte here is probably one of my all time favorites!

The cafe is small and has limited seating located in a quiet street in Chelsea. They use beans from Toby's Estate and selected desserts from Chikalicious – which by the way, I love both dearly! I aim for their specialties of course! I had both the Matcha Latte and Lavender Latte here. Both are top notch in my book. I loved that the Matcha Latte's bittersweet taste. Lavender Latte was just the best! It had a pleasant floral scent that I could smell it right away! I loved the lavender aroma in every sip!

As per the friendly barista, Perpetuum Cafe is only one of three cafes in the city that have a latte art printer. What is that, you ask? That was the same question I asked. It is a machine that puts a foam layer on top of your coffee with a picture or a printed message such as 'Happy Birthday', you can customize it! I am a traditionalist when it comes to latte art, I like it when the barista draws the leaf, heart, or animals. However, this is such a cool concept and I did enjoy it! Check it out!

  3. This is a small coffee shot with about 10 seats and free wifi. The location is convenient to trains. Alternative cafe music plays softly in the background. The barista who served me was friendly (despite close to closing time) and offered suggestions based on my likes; she seemed proud of the peppermint mocha, so I gave it a shot. I'm often not a huge fan, even though I like all of the ingredients separately. However, this drink changed my mind. It was warm and comforting on the cold winter day. The dark chocolate added a deep flavor without being too rich (also helped by the non-fat milk). The peppermint flavor comes afterwards, and is not too overwhelming or artificial tasting. The thick dollop of homemade whipped cream makes up for the lack of fat in the milk! I would definitely stop in for this treat.

They also sell some pastries, chocolates, treats, and boxed teas and cocoa from local shops.

  4. Lots of good things that I liked here after accidentally discovered the place: they offer really balanced cappuccino, hearty decoration with small grinders and tree figs, and even chocolate bars from FIKA! Haven't got the chance, but will for sure do their signature lavender latte next time!

    Happy hump day!

  5. New favorite cafe! They have such interested flavors such as match maple milk, flora tea with spices, lavender espresso with cinnamon honey, and more. I had to get the lavender, of course. I anticipated to be weak, like the one at Bibble & Sip, but NOPE! So, so, so flavorful, even though he had to infuse it last second since I made the change to almond milk, versus the whole milk presoaked with lavender. I got a large and couldnt get enough! $6+ but worth every penny. Plus service is super nice, there are a few sizeable seats, and good natural light.

  6. Happened upon this tiny café during an early morning walk.  For how early in the morning it was, the woman working behind the counter was super friendly and made a great matcha latte with soy milk.  They had a case at the counter with a nice assortment of pastries, and I regret not trying some of the beautifully crafted chocolates.  I guess I'll just have to visit again!

  7. Disclaimer. I only wanted matcha!

I finally was around here during their business hours (which don't coincide with my free time). I popped in and got a matcha latte with soy milk.

I like my matcha strong and bright green. This was a diluted sad face version. I thought the soy milk would have helped the situation but it added nothing. Aside from the green coloring I had no idea this was matcha without confirming the color each sip I took.

Maybe their other offerings are good. I really should try something else? The food is very organic (no thanks) and the latte was weak. Maybe their coffee is better?

The space itself was like any typical mom/pop coffee shop. Petite with no seating for more than 10 people (to capacity) mostly along the wall. The place seems cozy I just wish I got the same latte that everyone else raved about…

  8. A couple friends and I just came across Perpetuum while walking around one morning. The cafe is cute, somewhat hipstery. I ordered an interesting latte…. lavender infused milk with espresso and honey. I thought it would be too floral, but it was actually quite tasty. I would recommend!
