  1. The atmosphere is inviting and warm. The table came with complimentary fresh vegetables and cheese and pizza bread and a variety of other breads. It was an impressive start to our meal. The old world Italian fare was better than average although quite expensive. The server was knowledgeable and attentive and accommodating with our many requests to split entrees and change around ingredients. I would go back.

  2. As always, the food was great when I came here on Friday during my visit to NYC. I took my boyfriend here for the first time and he loved it. He ordered the penne with prociutto and vodka sauce, which was absolutely out of this world.

I will add one thing about the service: very stuffy this time around. The server barely paid any attention to us, and for some reason, he yanked our appetizer plates out of the way without even asking about 10 minutes before our food even showed up. No idea what his problem was. If the food wasn't so good, I probably would have thought twice before coming back.

  3. Excellent choice for Italian on the UES.
A very sophisticated menu, particularly when it comes to the fish.
The chef specials are usually great ( I was not too. impressed with the gnocci).

The last star was lost in a tragedy that involved 80s rock being played at a high volume in the restaurant…

oh and I think I saw a celeb there but I could be wrong (goodfellas but not one of the big names!)

  4. I've been here many times due to its convenient location to family members. It's pricey. But every meal I've had here has been delicious. You don't come here for fancy atmosphere or fancy service but the food is very good and it's a nice comfortable neighborhood spot. I'm a big fan of all the veal dishes. The fish dishes have all been great as well. Fried zucchini is yummy and so is the bread!
