  1. My boss has recommended this place to me for years but I never had visited. As part of a birthday celebration, my 3 friends and I (+ 1 child) decided to try it out and we were highly pleased. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by ALL of the staff. The ambiance and décor of the establishment is very beautiful and relaxing; Perfect for a date or special occasion out. Our waiter was also wonderful. He provided immaculate service including great recommendations of the best wines, appetizers and entrees. He was also very patient with our choices for the child at the table, even recommending which dishes were ideal as finger foods. We began with a complementary platter containing a variety of breads with olive oil; all very fresh, tasty and robust in flavor. For entrees, I ordered the shrimp with fettuccine pasta in an alfredo sauce. It was the absolute best, I have ever tasted! The shrimp was so flavorful and the pasta tasted homemade. 2 of my friends had the chicken parmesan with spaghetti, which from my sampling was also good. The birthday girl started her meal with a salad that contained a lemon dressing (I don't recall the name), but she liked it a lot. The penne ala vodka is often recommended to me and the birthday girl ordered that and loved it as well. She also had a crème brulee dessert, to which the staff also sang happy birthday.  If you decide on dessert, please try it, it was delicious.  Overall, the food and service is optimal. I would recommend this place 100 times over to anyone!

  2. Lovely food and great service. This restaurant features a great menu and well executed food. I really enjoyed my calamari and shrink as well as the sole.  The restaurant is priced reasonable and the service was attentive.

  3. Came here before RNR Brooklyn to carb up. I am normally vegetarian the night before the race, so I didn't try the chicken parm (though I really wanted to!!!)

We had a reservation, but still had to wait about 10 minutes past our time. The Sicilian owner is such a charmer!

We were seated at a comfortable table. The décor is a bit dated, but that wasn't why we were there.

The bread plate was fantastic and better than most! The one with the sauce was delish!

I had the pasta with the tomato eggplant sauce, which was delicious. Some eggplant dishes can be overpowering, but this wasn't at all, and was well balanced with the tomato, garlic and other ingredients in the sauce. I love that you can pick your cut of pasta (I opted for capellini).

A little expensive for what it is, but the food was good and I enjoyed my experience.

Skipped dessert (though I love a good cannoli). The charming owner made sure to stop us on our way out and thank us for our visit!

  4. A local gem, beloved by the neighborhood and those from far & wide for generations. I haven't eaten at Queen in at least 15 years and was truly in for a treat. It's been renovated from my last visit all those years ago, but still has what I love about these old school Italian joints- spacious tables with tablecthoths.- love it.
What spoke to me mostly was the food.
Nice bread basket w/ focaccia and crispy grissini w/ simple olive oil & a sprig of rosemary
    Ate:
Artichoke  w/ olives capers & parsley
Filet of sole w/ cured.olives in a light tomato broth steamed veg on the side
I asked specifically for no cheese or breadcrumbs on the artichoke and no flour on the fish. Both accommodations were provided and I loved my food. Best artichoke since Lilia's maybe partly better because they are so nice here. Nice piece of polenta w/ fish & al dente steamed veg. Old man runs the spot and you know this is a real well run restaurant where I felt like a Queen. P.S there is a three course prix fix before 6:30 for $29.

  5. Went to Queen for dinner tonight with a friend that happens to live around the corner and it was great! My friend had already been to Queen considering she lives in the neighborhood, but this was my first time visiting. It's a homey classic Italian restaurant and it was pretty busy on a Sunday night.

We started out with an order of the fried zucchini. It was so delicious! It was basically skinny strips of zucchini and a very generous portion. For our main meals my friend ordered the bolognese with the fresh pappardelle and I had the veal parmigiana. Mine actually came with a side of penne and I asked to substitute red sauce on my pasta for garlic & oil. I was told it would be a little more, but I totally should've asked how much. I was charged $5 extra for just garlic and oil. It was all delicious, but a little too much extra for just oil and a piece of garlic on top. To finish off our meal we shared the chocolate tort that came with vanilla gelato and raspberry drizzle on top. The dessert was awesome! We both really enjoyed the tort.

Overall Queen was excellent, but a little bit pricey for what we had. It's very clear that this classic Italian restaurant is a neighborhood favorite.

  6. Good service, friendly bartender, but didn't care for the lemon raisin cheesecake.  It was like a wet tasteless sponge that was inedible even after two drinks.

  7. Went to Queen last night and had a fabulous dinner. I made a reservation for 3 on a Saturday night at 8pm. We arrived on time and the restaurant was full. Our table was ready in less than 5 minutes and I overheard other guests being told it would be about a 30 minute wait.  It was my first time here and I chose it because it was very close to the hotel we were staying at. Well we were not disappointed. The house made mozzarella appetizer was delicious! We also went with a bottle of red wine that was on the specials menu, a 2009 Colpetrone Montefalco Sagrantino. It was recommended by the waiter and was perfect. I ordered the veal with mushroom…fantastico! My husband and son ordered veal parmigiana which was also delicious. We finished with cappuccino and shared the creme brûlée. The atmosphere was casual but romantic, there were several large groups but many tables of 2 and 4. The service was amazing! My son will be living in Brooklyn till May, I'm sure we'll be back!

  8. Went to Queen after getting a recommendation from a friend. I was not disappointed. This is a no frills Italian restaurant. A lovely gentlemen greeted us at the door, we were seated at a small, but comfortable table. The waiters are all well dressed and wearing aprons, everyone working together like a well oiled machine. I had a house Rosso that was very nice. They brought an impressive array of bread and flatbread…I had to restrain myself. They have a very modest standing menu and this massive menu of special dishes that are changed every 5 days. I had a string bean and beat salad that was perfect and the eggplant parm. The portions are enormous!!  I had about a quarter of the entrée, very good dish and enough to feed you for the week. Everything they brought out of the kitchen looked delicious. I don't think you could go wrong with this place.
