  1. My first time ordering from here was average. Steak, egg & cheese turned into a steak'um, egg & cheese. No problem. The problem was I paid $3 for oj that wasn't even fresh. Second time around I ordered a spinach omelette with home fries and toast. Who still use canned spinach anymore?! Ugh so disgusting but I was so hungry & I would've ate the container it came in. Nevermore!

  2. I think I need to stick to bagels and tuna sandwiches at Ray's. My last two visits have left me disappointed.

The first, a buffalo chicken sandwich I bought before hopping on a train to Philadelphia was pretty lackluster: deli sliced chicken with avocado and a too sweet dijon dressing. I was hoping for some spice. There was none.

Yesterday I gave Ray's another try. This time for a chicken breast press sandwich. Again, the flavor lacked.

I'll return, but only for tuna sandwiches and bagels with cream cheese.

  3. I usually don't take the time to review basic NYC delis, but I am sick of this place and need to vent.  Most deli staff are very nice, especially to regulars, but the guy at the register here is a total jerk.  After coming in every day for the past 3 months to get my breakfast here I am so fed up with the rudeness of the cashier that I am not going back ever again.  I guess he doesn't like the color of my money.  I certainly don't like having my food tossed at me every morning.

  4. Love my Ray's Super deli! I'm still trying to figure out which one of the guys is super Ray but I think I have it narrowed down.

They have my favorite deli coffee ever, it used to be $1, now it's $1.50 —still worth it though! I don't even have to say a word anymore, I just nod at "super ray" and he hands me my coffee and I give him the money, yep I'm a VIP 🙂

They make a good sandwich too, with way too much meat though – our dog is always happy to get the extras 🙂

They also have a good selection of other stuff you might need for a quick pick-up,  cigs, beer, dry foods, milk, pet food, etc. The place is always very clean too!

  5. When I came in there was a man trying to get the cashier's attention because the cashier was too deeply involved in a conversation with his coworkers. After the customer paid and left, the workers proceeded to speak in spanish and call him an asshole, amongst many other vulgar things.
Fast forward to five minutes later- Although seeing that there now was a woman at the counter, these pigs continued  to use obscene language and continued to joke with one another instead of ringing the woman up. That was enough for me. I put my stuff down and walked out of the store. Never again!

  6. Most disgusting iced green tea I've ever had in my life. I was shocked that it's possible to ruin it that badly. There was a really gross aftertaste, and I just couldn't finish, let alone have more than three sips. I knew it was a mistake to get iced green tea from a place like this, but since they did have it, I figured it would be decent at least. Never again.

  7. Pretty straight forward and basic NYC deli. I come here sometimes for the morning bagel and occasionally lunch. The bagels are decent though I've certainly had better. The lunch is your basic spanish food (rice and peas, chicken, beef, plantains, soup). I've had them all at least once and its decent but nothing special.

This is a good place to go if you happen  to be in the area and need a quick bite. They also have a decent sized grocery section where you can pick up some basic snacks, toiletries and canned foods. Overall a good place.
