  1. Many years ago, Seeda had a buffet.  This was my idea of heaven…all the Thai I could eat!  At that time, we went as often as possible.  I hadn't gone back for years, and decided to visit the other day.  I ordered Papaya salad with Grilled Chicken.   The salad was on point, spicy and flavorful dressing, but lacked the traditional dried shrimp to make it authentic. ( It should be noted that few restaurants include dried shrimp. )  The grilled chicken was more oven-fried, yet still good.  Our appy of Chicken Dumplings was delicious…really heavy garlic- YUM!  All in all, the meal was good, but not great.  And I hate when a restaurant uses powdered Thai iced tea.  Really, Seeda?

  2. Seeda Thai Restaurant is a quaint little restaurant located on the left side of Central Ave as you turn off Merrick road in Valley Stream. Meter parking is available but it was after 9pm when a friend and I visited and we didn't "feed the meter", hell we were too hungry to think about feeding anyone but ourselves.

The restaurant wasn't crowded and were were taken straight to our table. It's a nice spot for a small family dinner and couples. Or, come alone, they'll still feed ya.

My friend and I were there to catch up with each other's lives. Well to compare dating notes if you will. The talk was so juicy the waitress had to return three times before we were actually ready to order. She was pretty cool about it and in fact it looks like she was enjoying our "notes" as much as we were.

We eventually ordered  (straight to entrée)  we got:
Red curry with coconut milk, bamboo shoots, fresh chili basil leaves and shrimp.
    And
The Drunken noodle which is stir fried white flat noodle with chilli and basil leaves with shrimp and jasmine rice.

I'm not a fan of spicy food so I got mild. Mind you, there's mild and very mild. I felt  a baddie as I chose mild.

The food tasted good. The portions were adequate and I even had food for the following day.

Strong recommendation from me to try Seeda Thai, in my opinion one of Valley Stream's treasures.

    The End.

  3. The best Thai food in valley stream… Also the only Thai food in valley stream. The food here is ok. The chicken is usually so dry you could choke on it. "Everyones favorite".. pad Thai is good. Prices are average to high. The peanut dressing on the salad is very good. Overall, I have had much better elsewhere. If you want to stay around valley stream give them a try.

  4. I came here with my boyfriend and his parents on Father's Day to have dinner. The ambiance of the place is very nice. I had the sniffles so I ordered jasmine hot tea, vegetable miso soup and the vegetarian drunken noodles. Everything tastes great, except the drunken noodles. It didn't have much flavor at all, not even all the spicy like it's supposed to be. I had to ask them for some kind of hot sauce with some flavor so they ended up giving me sweet and sour sauce, which made it a little better, but not quite all the way. I would visit again, but only for the jasmine tea and vegetable miso soup TO GO.

  5. Very good Thai food served here.

I've been here several times in the past five years and always pleased with good and consistent food.

I came here for lunch this week while I was in town for mainly enjoy sticky rice with mango desert.  All the lunch food I had in the past has been very good but my favorite is their desert.

Sticky sweet rice together with mango (seasonal) has just right amount of sweetness to it, perfect way to end good lunch.

Their Thai iced tea is pretty good too. Takes away some of the spiciness from hot lunch.

  6. Seeda offers a warm and inviting dining experience. The hostess was friendly. The vicinity itself is small. I think a renovation should be in the works. It felt very Christmassy and we're in the month of October.

I ordered curry puffs as my appetizer. Four came in total but were the size of a lighter. The dough was lacking something and the filling was gone after one bite. I couldn't taste anything.

My entree consisted of the chicken massaman curry with brown rice. It was flavorful but just like the appetizer I ordered the portion was on the smaller side.

Their drinks need a lot of work. The pomegranate martini I ordered tasted like pomegranate juice with a splash of lime. No alcohol present at all.

  7. I enjoyed the food here. I had a chicken curry in green sauce. It was nice and spicy. I had some beef on a stick with some kind of dipping sauce that was tasty. The atmosphere is quaint and the service was good.

  8. Lesson: Just because it looked good, does not mean the taste reflected the visual.

Environment: Adorned in decorations, a sit down restaurant.

Customer Traffic: Majority of customers were people ordering take-out which caught me off-guard because it was Sunday, May 29,2016 (My Birthday) and people coming from church or families usually would fill these restaurants.

Lobster Pad Thai: I hate to break this to everyone who saw the Lobster Pad Thai…(sighs)…it wasn't good. I ordered this dish expecting tender pieces of lobsters sautéed into the pad thai but I didn't get that. I took a first of the lobster and chewed it,kept chewing it, chewed it some more and spit it out. I told my father to taste the lobster to make sure I was not being dramatic and chewed it, chewed it some more and he said "Don't eat the lobster, the consistency is like gum and it must have been frozen."

How They Resolved The Issue: I called the waiter to tell him "This dish was not good and is it possible we can have a manager?" I made sure to only have two pieces of the lobster so if the manager thought I was lying, I saved her some food. He took my plate and gave it to the chef and the manager. Tell me how I saw the manager taste the piece of lobster and spit it out? (Drops The Fork) The waiter came back and replaced my meal with the Chicken Pad Thai w Tofu and that was way better than the Lobster Pad Thai. I have been always hesitant about sending my food back but why spend my father's money on a dish I couldn't eat? They did not charge my dad for the Lobster Pad Thai and apologize profusely about this and I appreciated it.

Will I Come Back?: I don't think so. Ordering seafood from an establishment shows the true quality and freshness of the food. Their Strawberry Lemonade drink was great though.
