  1. If you like elegant italian food, look no further. I was truly astonished with this restaurant. At first glance it seemed small and slightly pretentious. I mean come on! $45-$60 Entrees, $18 Salads, $25 Appetizers. But I can honestly say, if you can afford it, its worth the money. The Service is, and I quote, "Impeccable" by Zagat. And it truly is just that.
The Crowd to my surprise was mixed with older generation and an even amount of tables filled with middle/younger people. It is an elegant place, so don't come here dressed in shorts and a Tee. No Blazers required.
The server started us off with drink orders and then proceeded to elaborate on the specials/entire menu. They all sounded so good that we never even open the menu. I ordered the bean salad to start and the squid ink pasta as my entree.
The Bean salad, although pricey, was excellent. Very refreshing, good portion and just the right dressing. It was filled with over 10 ingredients and I say that because I counted. The squid Ink pasta came with Clams and calamari. The plating was attractive and not light on portion. The flavors on my first bite blew me away. Pasta Al Dente and seafood fresh, not overcooked or chewy.
Opted not to choose dessert after that dish, but regretted it later when I glanced on their website at the choices.
This place really got a great kitchen and phenomenal staff running the place. I would love to meet the chef next time I'm there.
Old School Italian join with skills on plate. Well done Sistina! See you soon.

Oh and the bread and butter is on point… Especially that special recipe infused butter had me going and going for more… And I usually hate butter.

  2. We had meaning to go here for a while since the reviews have always been great (26 in Zagat!). The decor was cozy & a little like Due on 80th & third. Service was lovely, it was romantic, albeit a bit older & without a hint of trend. Two appetizers., two pasta dishes, and two drinks came to about $180.   We knew it would be expensive, but the food, to be honest, is not worth the prices. It was delicious, but we've definitely had pasta as good or better other restaurants that are less pricey (Supper, Cacio E Peppe, Frank's, Hearth, Spigolo…) Glad we went and can cross it off the list. I don't fear them closing, they seem to have loyal fans.

  3. Sistina must have taken into account all the mediocre reviews from 2011, because the 2012 edition is simply spectacular. Great service from beginning to end with courteous, smiling and personable waiters. But you don't go to Sistina for the service, you go for the authentic, mouth-watering Italian food.

I went there a couple nights ago with a party of 4, we all had an appetizer and entree including stunning fried zucchini flowers filled with ricotta, an artichokes salad with fava beans, parmigiano and truffles, and a beef carpaccio. The pasta dishes were freshly made and full of flavor. Very copious portions.

Great, great experience overall. I've been going to Sistina for a few years now and will continue to come back.

  4. OK – I gave them a 5 – but they may be more like a 4.5.  5 star service EVERY time we go and gorgeous, perfect food.  In season try fresh squash bloosoms stuffed adn fried.  Mmmmn!

Also ask them to MAKE you a home-made limonata.  So delish.

We enjoy it at Sistina.  Worth the money.

  5. This is one of those reviews… where I can't believe I didn't write one for this restaurant. I've been coming here for years and love Guiseppe and his passion for wine and great food. Really impressive wine list and definitely someone who understand how to make his customers happy.

Now.. if price is an issue this may not be the place for you… because the bill can get up there if you're not paying attention to the wine you're tasting or if you have an affinity for truffles… but. Each time I've brought people here they have had a fantastic time.

Delicious, fresh, lovingly cooked to order. Thank you Sistina for always making sure we have had a great time.
