  1. Absolutely horrific place.

Unorganized and a mess. The people running Skolnik's aren't sure of how to handle orders – regardless of size. The woman making the bagels is constantly flustered and yelling at the younger woman running the register. There's no fluidity to any orders.

Customers constantly had to re-ask for their bagel orders – the staff would just forgot about them. I'm currently here with my wife writing this review, and I decided to publish it as we wait so I don't forget this feeling…

It's cheap as all hell, but you certainly get what you pay for.

  2. Starving after the gym and wanted a smoothie, but my go to places were a) not open and b) in the opposite direction of where I was going. OK I'll just get an iced coffee from Starbucks and settle. I pass by this place all the time, had previously read mediocre reviews so it was not my intention to come here. Today I saw some people leaving the store with smoothies, hmmmmmm they looked pretty good, let's give it a go. You walk into a mom and pop bagel/ breakfast/juice spot, like others have mentioned, I am sure they are struggling with a Starbucks right next door.
The place is pretty big with lots of tables and artwork displayed on the wall. They had fresh bagels and some pretty interesting ones – The green bagel made with Kale, spinach and ginger. They did not have an abundance of bagels left at 10am, good sign. Right behind the counter is the flat top grill, where a young lady makes all the breakfast sammies fresh to order! The only thing I didn't like about that is that I came out smelling like breakfast. This could be a turn off if I was dressed for work. Today, I could have cared less, I was in gym clothes.
The menu is comprised of typical breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches and soups. They seem to be leaning toward more health conscious  offerings. A good selection of freshly extracted juices, along with fruit smoothies and fruit shakes, bonus for having skim, soy and almond milk. Protein powder add ins for the body building types, also oatmeal and flax seed add ins for a heartier shake. The smoothie I had was blueberry banana made with soy milk only (they usually add frozen yogurt) and oatmeal. It was really good, the price was fair $6. The owner was really sweet, I could hear her telling her husband about the oatmeal! I'm glad I came in here, and found another place to get a smoothie from!

  3. I'm sitting here writing my review because that's how much time I have while waiting my order.

My husband forced me to come here so I blame him. He actually said, "sorry, I forgot how bad this place is."

Last time I came Here the wait was slightly better. Not this time. The bagels are average at best. I am curious about the 4/5 star reviews about the fresh juices. I know better than to try one on a Sunday morning because by the time I receive it I'll be getting ready for bed.

1 star for the fresh fruit in the beverage fridge. The watermelon was great.

  4. A small mom and pop bagel shop struggling to survive behind a busy Starbucks. You can see the struggle walking in. No menu board and no high end espresso machine. If you're looking for a cozy coffeehouse, this isn't your place. But this is your place if you're like me and want to support a small business that delivers freshly made meals. I started my morning here with a Morning Starter Smoothie with bananas, strawberries and grapefruit. The man blended the fruit right in front of me, can't get any more fresher than that.

Oh and please don't disrespect this business by bringing in your Starbucks coffee from next door. Feel like I have to say this because the table in front of me did exactly that.
