  1. Loved that NY was vegan friendly. After spending a short weekend in the city, I only had two meals the whole weekend. Sadly, this was one of them. Maybe I picked the wrong item but I was less than impressed. I ordered the veggie burger with regular fries. The veggie burger tasted liked nothing but shredded carrots. I mean, y'all, I love me some carrots….but I love them in their natural state. Not really a burger. I just wasn't expecting it. Not to mention it was cold when it was served to me. The fries were awesome. Everyone else likes their dishes. The ambiance was awesome and our server was great. No complaints. Next time, if there is one I will try something different.

  2. I didn't really check Yelp or anything before going here, we were both starving & just saw this place and was like okay this looks good. The patio is super cute so we were like why not!

When we got the menu I was like oh crap, I'm on vacation this place is way too healthy for me.. they had a whole vegan section & then there was like buckwheat in the description of the pancakes.. uh oh.

I decided to get the breakfast burrito, which I thought had a weird set of ingredients, there was rice in it, which I love, but for breakfast? I'm used to like eggs, meat, cheese, & potatoes. This had egg, chorizo, rice, black beans, guac. When I got it, 1) I was shocked at how big it was, and 2) I was kind of bummed that the chorizo was like non existent, I think I might have seen a piece or two. But the rice which I was a little worried about was delicious, just kind of odd for breakfast.

My sister got dark chocolate *buckwheat* pancakes, I don't like pancakes much so I didn't try them but she said they were good. Nothing too special though.

But the bread they delivered to the table before our meal was SO good. So defintly make sure you get that.

Overall, the place was ok, I think if I was a vegan or something I would enjoy it more, they had a lot of healthy options if you're into that type of thing 😉

  3. I really love Spring Natural Kitchen. It is a great restaurant to come to if you need to feed a lot of picky people. They serve organic, vegetarian and vegan options! The dinner portions are also very large. I have tried a few things off their menu, the calamari, curried chickpea fava bean fritters, and the natural Angus beef burger. My favorite were the fritters, burgers and fries. All so tasty! It's a bit pricey but you know that everything your eating is of the highest quality. All the staff is very friendly and welcoming. Even when they are busy they try to.accomodate you to the best of their ability. They have a full bar and their wine, beer and cocktails are all so well made. They can definitely accommodate large parties so however small or large your group is, seating shouldn't be a problem.

  4. Spring offers some good options. Definitely appreciate the eggs benedict varieties and the fresh fruit/veggie juices. However, some of the menu items are a little too healthy and some are on the blander side as a result.

  5. Came here  on a weekday for lunch after hearing great things about it, but was let down. Maybe this is a healthy gluten free place on the UWS that specializes in brunch, but all in all, my experience was mediocre and I don't see myself coming back anytime soon.

    Hypes:
    – Great healthy vegan and gluten free options on the menu
    – Kid friendly – the have high chairs and ample space to fit strollers as well around your table
    – Cool refreshing drinks – Mint lemonade was tangy and sweet if you roll that way
    – large portions
    – We had the taco salad – it was pretty good and refreshing

    Gripes:
    – Slow snail like service where you had ask not one or two times, but three at least for an extra – whether it be napkins, an extra plate, or a drink order
    – The regular burger was huge to the point where it fell apart going from hand to mouth.
    – Fries were very small, more like the little crisps and bits leftover at the bottom of the fry bag

I've definitely had and experienced better…Will have to give brunch a try someday when I can't get in anywhere else

  6. Walked in here for a drink- ended up eating brunch- now that is a compliment right there! Out door seating- check. Intimate ambience – check. Drink selection decent- check. Service courteous – check. Menu options excellent- check. Good food – check. Healthy bar food options- check. Coming again?- check.

I got an old fashioned which was very well made. My hubbie loved his beer. I got salmon egg benedict with side of beans. They were courteous enough to replace the side to replace the potato fries for me. My hubbie got spring omellete with side of sweet potato fries. Goat cheese in the omelette was absolutely delicious!! Of course, comes with complementary whole wheat bread with olive oil.

This is definitely one of our best brunch experiences! And if u r wondering- yes we picked the patio seating!!! 🙂

  7. Had a group dinner here for a friend's birthday. I liked it–the digs were maybe even nicer than the downtown location.

This time, I went with the Sesame Crusted Yellowfin Tuna Nicoise: nice, large, tasty, and relatively healthy. We had some good bio-dynamic wine as well.

I'm not huge on hippie/natural food movements but Spring has been doing it a long time and the execution is pretty sound. One of the few places where people with different diets can dine together as chums in gastronomy.

Brunch here was delicious. The Bloody Mary menu is extensive and impressive. The brunch menu is full of big salads, sandwiches, egg platters, and sides galore. I definitely recommend any of the salads.

You will often get a wait here, but I think it's worth it. It's also a good place to grab a table with a small group of friends to catch up. Try it at least once if you're in the area!
