  1. Came here on a Monday night for an event, we ordered pitchers of beer $26 and the regular pies.  I thought the service was super spotty… I waited almost 15 minutes to try to get a drink.  No one was at the bar, then the waitress was barely around.  They need more people if they know its going to be busy!  Anyway I did think the pizza was delicious, super super thin crust.  I was somehow not too full after I ate literally half of a large pie.. not sure if this is a good or bad thing?  I will probably come back to try the mushroom pizza since I heard that one is good along with other items on the menu.

  2. We came here tonight and I ordered the arugula salad ($10) with pear, candied pecans, cranberries, cheese and chicken (an extra $4).

Most of the salads are about $10, with the regular caesar salad costing $8 and the fancier salads costing $12.

We sat towards the front of the room in what I would call uncomfortable chairs. The waiters weren't extra friendly, but they did their job of taking our orders, getting them right, and refilling our water – so no complaints here.

My boyfriend got the pizza, which had a super thin crust / base. He seemed to enjoy it, as well as all the other people ordering pizza in Spunto.

  3. We were looking for a pizza place and came across this restaurant and decided to pop in on a whim. It turned out to be a good experience! The servers were friendly and the service was good. I liked the ambiance, it's a little dark in here but feels very comfortable. We got their mushroom pizza to share and it was the perfect size for sharing between two people. It wasn't the best pizza I've ever had but it was still delicious and I would for sure come back here again. Sounds like this place also has good happy hour/drink specials but unfortunately they did not have anything like that going on when we were there.

  4. This was my go to spot when I worked in the West Village. The lunch specials are really good. I usually get the two slice for $5 with a free drink. The slices are rather small but don't be fooled. It'll satisfy you.
The place is cute. It's fill with booths. I've never had issues waiting for a seat. I've brought quite a few people here for dinner and they loved it. I highly recommend the shroomtown. It has truffle oil and it's to die for. Keep in mind that they are thin crust pizza so it's not your average New York pizzeria. The meat lover is amazing as well. To start off, I recommend the garlic bread with cheese and the rotella. You can end the night with the bread pudding a la mode. It's sooooo good.  They serve beer, wine, and a small selection of spirits. The wine is served in a highball glass though which is a little weird to me.
The place is clean and the service is great. The servers always recommend the best choice in terms of food so if you have any questions you can trust them for their opinion.

  5. Well Lush.
An expression that describes something that is equally satisfying, comforting and unexpected all at once (like when you wake up at 4am, think it's 6am and realise you've another 2 hours under the warm duvet you hadn't accounted for – that's WELL LUSH)

Spunto is no frills, warm and comforting. I'm not sure how long it's been here, but my guess is a long time.

Pizza was excellent (I'm not venturing into the whole NY pizza argument, suffice to say it was crispy, full of flavour and satisfying)

Apple pie, vanilla sauce and ice cream was as comforting and delicious as it sounds.

Cold night, warm glow = well lush.

  6. I am deeply in love with this amazing pizza place. (5/5 for their gourmet pizza).

They take phone calls for delivery. The shroomtown is absolutely amazing! It's amazing and so unique that how rich and flavorful mushrooms can be! I love the shroomtown thin crust pizza even more than the shroom burger at shake shack – in addition to the rich and soft cheese and flavorful mushroom… The marinara sauce balances the richness of cheese and mushrooms; the white truffle oil is definitely the highlight too! YUM YUM!

Other pizzas are very tasty too. I would strongly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for thin crust quality pizza in NYC.

  7. As the summer winds down, have to take advantage of the outside seating in the sun as much as humanly possible. No one around for 2pm lunch on a Friday so got immediate seating outdoors.

Between two people: got the Bruschetta ($9) and a large Pepperoni Pizza ($12). Bruschetta came out first – four large pieces of thin toast with a pesto base and diced seasoned tomatoes on top. Perfect starter to get the appetite flowing. Pizza came out next, cut into eight slices. Oily from the pepperoni, easy to eat, equally spread cheese, extra thin crust.

Solid meal all around. I'm not a super fan of thin crust, though if you want a meal to not put you into a coma this is a great option, and at a fair price.

  8. What a pleasant surprise. Not sure why it is not packed as Rubiorsa or even more. This pizza will sing to you. There is a reason that shroomstown is famous. Nothing like I have ever tasted before. Meaty mushrooms. Pizza with loaded umami. That pizza knows how to stand on it's own because that crust is something else, that crust can stand on it's own even with a shit ton load of arugula and other stuff on top like their parma. Their happy hour can be worked on. Regular price beer bogo. Im full from the pizza can't take in too much beer. Just make it 3.50 or something. The other happy hour is a pitcher with plain pizza. I'm sure their plain would be fabulous but that shroomstown. It's a must. Will be back real soon.
