  1. We recently stopped by here for the annual St. Rocco's feast.  Neither of us had attended it in the past and really who wants to turn down good Italian food?  Unfortunately, the feast wasn't all it's cracked up to me.  On our way out, we did stop and buy some napoleons and cannolis, though.

The napoleon was a bit weak.  It completely fell apart, even after sitting in the fridge for a couple of hours.  The fact they kept everything displayed during the feast directly in the sunlight probably didn't help.  The custard was just okay.  I had the cannoli the next day and that was slightly better.  The shell was good, the filling was just okay.  For $2 per pastry you can't really complain, though.

  2. Absolutely love this place!

I stop by for lunch at least 2-3 times a month.  Simple lunch menu – different hero sandwiches daily, a few hot items, and great tasting brick-oven pizza.

They also have a n extensive bakery – everything is great.  Coffee, espresso, etc made to order – even gelato made in-house.  Definitely worth a visit when in Glen Cove/Glen Head.  Remember to take cash as they don't accept anything else.

  3. OMG St Rocco's bakery baked the the best bread I have ever eaten in my life. I had dinner at Jack Halyards restaurant in Oyster Bay and was served a beautiful round crusty loaf of what tasted like sourdough bread that made eating anything else an afterthought. When I asked where they got their bread I found out it was Saint Rocco's bakery so I took a trip to Glen Cove and bought some assorted breads and pastries home all I can say is wherever you are RUN do not walk to Saint Rocco's bakery

  4. The bakery is absolutely charming. I sampled the limoncello tiramisu and creme brulee and they were light and excellently prepared.

The espresso drinks were top notch and enjoyed with a crispy chocolate chip cookie, one of the best I've ever had might I mention.

My favorite though was the prosciutto bread, I will dream about that bread. It was absolutely worth coming from the city.

Beyond the extraordinary food, the bakery has a lovely outdoor seating area to sit down and enjoy your treats with good company and conversation. Truly deserving of 5 stars.

  5. Amazing, Amazing Breads. This is a great bakery, such great pastries, cakes, and even home made Sicilian pizza. Fabulous hero sandwiches, and what a beautiful decor. One of the most beautiful looking exterior & interior designed bakeries. This is a great place to visit when you feel Arthur ave. is just too far to drive to, when you are looking for great bread. Onion French bread is to die for.

  6. This place would be 5 stars easily if it wasn't cash only. Everything is on point here. Location is good, free parking, the building itself is not hard on the eyes, it's clean inside with friendly staff. It's not a huge place but they do just fine for what it is. They have an old skool fire oven. You can dine al fresco under the nice umbrellas out front or on the side of the business.

In addition to making cakes and pastries they also make fresh pizza and sandwiches on their own baked bread which is delicious I might add. The pastries are so nicely decorated it's actually almost a shame to eat them. I like to admire the craftsmanship for a little while before I tear them apart.

They also take lunch orders, you can order a bunch of sandwiches prepared to your liking and pop in and pick them up whenever you like. I highly recommend the prosciutto and mozzarella with their pickled hot peppers.
