  1. Tang is a cozy place to try some well-seasoned Korean food. I've come here before during the wee hours of the night, and even then, the servers are professional and kind, which has impressed me.

On two separate occasions, I've tried their hot stone pot bibimbap (vegetables + meat over rice + hot pepper paste) and their oxtail soup, both of which are my comfort foods: filling, savory, and pretty healthy too! I particularly liked that the former dish simmered even when it was served to me at the table, so I felt like I was eating something hot and freshly cooked.

The atmosphere inside the restaurant is cozy, because the interior is made up of glazed dark wood, and the lighting reminds me of stage lighting and spotlights. There are also two big screen TVs that I've caught soccer and NBA games on before.

The prices are on the steeper side for me: I was a bit surprised that their pancake dishes, which are appetizers, are on the $9-$10 side, so ordering just entrees is more worth it to me.

  2. Quality Korean food as expected. Everything is very well managed here from the moment you sit to the moment you pay, everyone is doing something to help.

All the food is delicious, I highly recommend the 2 for $20 deal, you can choose from any of the meats and then pick a tofu soup, cold noodle or bibimbap dish. The bulgogi is my personal favorite, the flavoring is just right and not too salty or sweet. The dulsot bibimbap is also my favorite, so together that would be my combo of choice, however the cold noodles are also very good.

The only thing I noticed is, since my last visit, the portion sizes for the meat dishes have decreased in size.

  3. WOW ! Tang is the go to restaurant when craving authentic Korean food.  It is spacious and has great ambiance. Their $20 set menus are priced incredibly well and comes with generous proportions.

The fresh kimchi is like none I've tasted before and can be refilled by the friendly staff.

I particularly enjoy their Chilled Kudzo Noodles which can also be served spicy. The seafood soft blue crab tofu pot is a great compliment to the chilled noodles and is very flavorful. This comes with blue crab, mussels, clams etc..

My favorite dish to order is their Jeyuk Bokkeum. The perfectly marinated pork is savory and comes with deliciously sautéed veggies. This is served with a bowl of rice. I suggest the brown rice over the white !

We also tried the Seolleong Tang which is snowy white ox-bone broth that is cooked for over 12 Hours to remove fat and oil. This is topped with beef brisket, thin white flour noodles and white rice. You can tailor the taste with scallions, salt and pepper as you like.  This is the closest ox-bone soup to the ones I've tasted in Seoul.

Tang is a great place to go for any occasion and is a must try !

  4. I come here so often that I forget to check in. My father is an EXTREMELY picky person and he only eats at the same 5 or so restaurants (until the chef or the taste changes and he never goes back). Tang is one of the restaurants he discovered half a year ago and when he first did, he went 5x in one week.
Now we are beloved recognized regulars. So perhaps I'm a little biased in my review, but they give us great service every time. They are always polite and everything I've tried so far is delicious: bossam, galbi tang (SO good), modeum jungol, naengmyeon, wanja-jeon (beef patties)… and the sushi & sashimi are really really fresh.
What spurred me to write this review all of a sudden is that the last time we went, we ordered a sashimi plate but they accidentally put in the order for sushi instead. After they brought it over, they soon realized they gave us the wrong plate. They took it back at first but within a few minutes they said it was on the house! FREE sushi plate. And of course they came with our sashimi too.
My dad doesn't eat raw fish unless it's really fresh (I don't have that kind of refined palate and I like all food so I eat everything). But he said it was one of the best sushi he's had in Queens. So applause to Tang.

One little thing that I don't like (but I won't take off a star for) is that they don't give lots of banchan (side dishes) nor dessert / after-meal food like most Korean restaurants. My parents said it's not their "thing", which I can respect.
I'll probably be back in the next week, whether I want to be there or not!

  5. I'm practically salivating at the memory of the food here, while trying to put my thoughts together for this review.

I've been here several times, but before the last time, it was always a bit overpriced to get everything I wanted. The last time I went for the 2 for $20 set meal which is an absolute deal! First of all, this place is huge, beautiful, and feels luxurious. They even have valet parking in the parking lot haha.

I got the Kalbi + haemul soon doo boo (seafood), while my boyfriend got the spicy chicken + mushroom soon doo boo. First off, the banchan & kimchi are always ridiculously fresh tasting. I hadn't had kimchi for awhile before this & of course we scraped off plate after plate. I love the boys in the carts that go around with the kimchi. They personally cut your kimchi for you & pour over that kimchi juice.

All of our dishes were very delicious, and you can  that they use quality ingredients for everything. I highly recommend this place for korean food cravings, because the set is definitely worth it for the quality served.

  6. Wow, wow, wow!  Just had dinner here for the first time and I must say: Tang is by far one of the best Korean restaurants I've ever dined in.  Not only was service top-notch, genuinely friendly and attentive and the decor modernized with nice brick walls, high ceilings and hard-wood floors … the food was delicious!  We were disappointed that we weren't served ban chan, but instead were served a salad with ginger dressing (I assume from the Japanese side of the menu) as well as kimchee (obviously from the Korean side), but the dishes that subsequently followed totally compensated for it!

We ordered two combo meals with the chilean sea bass paired with a seafood soondubu and a bulgogi paired with the blue crab soondubu and all I can say is impeccable!!  What constituted the soondubu was good broth, fresh seafood and most importantly, tofu that tasted homemade, incredibly silky and slips right down your throat.  Moreover, the sea bass possessed great char and the bulgogi was extremely flavorful.  Portions were rather generous as well and you definitely get more bang for your buck ordering the combos.

Lastly, after we paid for our check, they gave us two complimentary bottles of Korean ginseng in honor of Mother's Day.  What more can you ask for?  Happy tummy, happy wallet and free gift for mommy (but I'm drinking it).  A must visit if you haven't, Yelpers!

  7. Been coming here for a while now and the service just gets better and better.

First of all you can't go wrong with their set menu of a soup and a meat. On top of that, they serve fresh kimchi as well as a salad. Not only are their servers super nice, they're also super attentive and refills waters/tea/kimchi before having to ask.

As for the food– if you're looking for something simple, I recommend their $20 set. You have the options of bugogi (super tender and love the flavor), glabi (another one of my favorites– great flavor), bibimbap, or chili sea bass with a variety of soondubu soups as well as non spicy soups. They also are able to alter the spice level for the soups. If you're looking for something more extravagant– they have a sushi bar with many sushi and sashimi options.

Been here a couple of times and each time I've been surprised with a small gift at the end of my meal (facial masks for women, ties for men. this time we both got a ginseng Korean drink)

Another perk is that it's open 24 hours and they not only serve Korean food but sushi/sashimi as well.

  8. This place has some solid food.  Probably a bit different from the other Korean restaurants around bc they don't give many side dishes.  The decor is clean and modern, which is unusual for a Korean Restaurant, and the service is up to par.  They have some nice combination meals where you can get dishes for $20.  Great value since you can probably share with another person if you're not that hungry.  If you are hungry, then it's perfect.

    I would recommend.
