“And of course, to end the night, I had to get their signature chocolate soufflé and that's when they had me right then and there.”

“So please do yourself a favor and don't compare it to Tuptim down the street (very good, but very different).”

“I highly recommend this place for almost any occasion, but keep in mind-it gets really loud when restaurant is packed.”

  1. Had a nice meal here with a friend. Food was good, although nothing particularly memorable aside from the frog legs, which were yummy and stuck with me. I liked the ambience and love the location.

  2. I'd have to say this was your standard Thai restaurant experience.
We decided to be those people that responded, yes, we would like your souffle, even though this is a thai place, not French. It was pretty good.

The waitstaff, overly attentive. Don't say, take your time with the bill, but bother us twice while we are still chatting to ask if you can take the bill… no you cannot.

The food was OK. the Pad See Ew that my friends ate had great noodles. I went with the Saute to avoid unnecessary carbs. Oh well.

The Salad- not sure which one my friend ordered, but if you guessed, "did they put sour cream and onion lays potato chips on the salad?" then you're tonight's lucky winner.

Four main courses, 1 appetizer, 1 desert, $20pp. Plus BYOB-Not too shabby. Now I remember why I agree to meet my friends in NJ and not NYC.

  3. 3.5

Ordered take out from TC a while back. I do like the fact that everything here is tasty, but in all real talk, it's a little pricey. There are three other Thai places to choose from down the same street that all sell similar items on their menu. I will give them this: they have the best PAD THAI around. It has a delicious smokey flavor.

    Peeves:
#1. I had looked for their menu online prior to ordering and they definitely hiked up their prices in comparison to what I was charged.

#2. When I walked in to pick up my order, I asked for a take out menu and they told me they ran out and that I should check their website. DEAD END.

  4. I've been here at least a half dozen times and my experiences have always been positive.

I usually go with the Apple Snapper entree, but this last time, it was a little overcooked and dry. The green curry entree is also delicious, but spicy so trust your pallet before you order this. The peking duck and egg noodles is equally delicious, but it was a little dry the last time I had it.

The dumplings, escargot, and mussels are AWESOME. The chili lime sauce they serve with the mussels is out of this world.

Great Thai iced tea also. I usually get one of these for dessert.

The service is usually friendly, but can be a little slow. We had to ask for bread three times to swipe up the butter sauce from the escargot.

The location is pretty easy for parking as well. It's further up Bloomfield Ave. toward Verona where parking frees up on the side streets. Also, BYOB so that's a plus!

  5. Above average Thai food with a French influence.
    Shaky and spotty service.
    Reasonable prices.

We went midweek and sat outside as a party of 6 with 2 kids.
Service issues included difficulty in getting water refills, difficulty in getting the attention of our server, and forgotten ordered items that simply weren't served.

The food itself was pretty good, though no particular item stood out as exceptional.
Both the the Peking duck rolls and spicy duck salad had minimal duck, and the salad was lacking that delicious crispy skin that could have really jazzed it up.
The sautéed ginger beef was the highlight of our order. Properly cooked with a nice ginger kick and sweet–though not cloyingly so.

I did enjoy the outdoor dining. While its in front of the restaurant along Bloomfield Ave, it's in an enclosure, so it's set off from the street. The sound of the traffic isn't too bad, the occasional siren notwithstanding.

Overall, there's not much separating it from the pack.

  6. So… I've eaten here a few times and each time the same thing happens: the service is terrible but the food is great. And by terrible service I mean non-existent – no one's rude, they're either understaffed or really, really slow at serving. This last time my friend and I were there a half an hour before someone came to offer us water or take our order. The panang curry is unique – darker than what you usually get with a panang but loved it. Best veggie spring rolls of all the local Thai places.  My friend swears by their pad thai – so if they dial up their service they'll get another star. 🙂

  7. Yummy mango sticky rice! The sticky rice is mixed with the condensed milk prior to serving, and the mango was very fresh. The positive review sorta stops here though.
The appetizer sampler thing was really terrible, the chicken was way to salty and I'm not even sure what the other dishes were.
The pad thai at $13 was.. eh, compared to my $6.50 pad thai in midtown which I have for lunch quite often. I also found the pad see ew was a bit on the sweet side, and the veggies tasted burnt.
The ambiance is nice, and the staff are friendly. However, the service was incredibly slow (getting to order, food arriving, getting the check, returning the card), and understandably so, because the layout of the restaurant was very odd, causing the servers to walk a long distance, up and down some steps to get to the patrons from the kitchen.

Tip: There's no parking, which really sucks for a cold winter night. So plan accordingly..

  8. Came here for a business dinner and again with a friend, and I must say that it truly offers one of the best (if not the best!) pad Thai in the area: plus beautiful decor. It also has lots of vegetarian options, and the duck pineapple was tangy and savory. It is Thai plus French but all fusions are very classy, unlike certain places that go out of their way to be "weird."
