  1. Came here for dinner on a Friday night. Just recently opened in downtown Hartsdale across the street from the train station. Fun crowd inside both upstairs and downstairs reminded me of a lively happy hour spot. Impressed by the amount of effort put into this establishment. From the floors to the leather nailhead booths a lot of thought was put into making this a beautiful bar/restaurant. The downstairs had about 5 booths and a bar and the upstairs had twice as much space with an additional bar and 3 more TVs.  There was a nice space upstairs perfect for a private function/party.  Cute outside patio area with 3 tables.

The menu was limited due to the soft opening, but it had the basics. The beer battered fish N'chips were some of the best I've had- fresh flakey tender cod with a seasoned light crust accompanied with a tangy tartar sauce and traditional malt vinegar. Wasn't that hungry but surprised myself when I finished the entire thing. Also ordered the southwestern salad. Bed of fresh vibrant mixed greens, tomato and avocado with nicely seasoned and perfectly grilled chicken paired with a tasty chipotle line dressing.

For just being opened about a month they sure impressed me. Room for improvement on the service side, but I'll be coming back. And yes some of the people that work here are Irish, hopefully they get more Irish food on the menu

  2. What a clever addition to the Hartsdale scene, community and village. The Irish Bank is tucked away in Hartsdale, NOT on Central Avenue's madness.

So we decided to go on a whim. Place was freaking packed, people! Main level has nice booths, smaller tables and the bar off to your right, that was popping. And what a lively Pub it was. Do make reservations as The Irish Bank, gets downright busy. Theresa {owner and hostess} accommodated us upstairs, which was perfectly fine. Upper level is furnished with a full bar, basic dining tables and high tables and chairs, while the center of the upper level grabs you with an eye-catching structural opening, overlooking downstairs.

Since The Irish Bank has been operating for the last several weeks, menu is short, (extended version to come) lending itself to straightforward staples such as, Beer-Battered Cod, that had the best and lightest crunch, Steak sandwiches and Shepherd's Pie (both that I don't eat). Heads up, Irish Bank does have a Cocktail menu and I quickly settled for a unique combination of Raspberry and Jalapeño Martini. Boy….. Just that one cocktail, was probably the only one I needed and perhaps made up for the 2 or 3 more cocktails that I didn't have. Sh*t was strong! Mr. Irish Bartender, had an awesome hand with the pour- for sure!

Hands down, The Irish Bank is solid in the Hartsdale sector. It's a friendly and happy place with good service, though I felt it was tad disjointed. Give it a few more and service will be magnified, as soon as they get themselves fully set. I really do think, that the golden nugget of their secret will lie on the fact that Hartsdale Ave., was in dire need of a restaurant such as The Irish Bank.
