Being near Little India in Edison has spoiled me where Indian restaurants are concerned. Tiffin is one of the best Indian places in its area, but my first visit did not meet Edison standards. The staff is very nice, the menu extensive and the internet only specials ( $10 chicken dishes on Mondays, etc) are bargains and dine in prices reasonable.
The peshawari naan was excellent, but the chili chicken, kali mirch tilapia, chicken chettinad and butter chicken were only ok. I will try some other dishes and hope for better results.

Fairly decent buffet with a nice selection of options.
I tried the chicken tikka, pepper chicken, saag, aloo with cabbage and the paakora. All were good and seemed fresh. There were additional options I did not try but also looked appealing.
They also served naan with this and had mango lassi available at the buffet table.
Service was attentive and the 9.99 price was very reasonable.
This is a step down from the saffron restaurant that was here. Everything was pretty mediocre. Cauliflower appetizer was pretty good. However the chicken vindaloo and chicken tikka masala were uninspiring. Gravies were pretty good however the chicken was dry and overcooked.
The ambience was nice. They gave the restaurant a fresh paint job and nice linens. The service was also pretty good. I will likely be back because it's the only Indian place in the area. However I won't be massively excited.
