Tipsy Parson

“My favorite dishes are the Migas (their interpretation of huevos rancheros) and the Biscuit Bomb (a delicious biscuit-based concoction with smoked sausage and cheddar bits).”

“Do yourself a favor the next time you're hankering for brunch in Chelsea and make reservations for Tipsy Parson!”

“Highlights for me were the blended, chilled corn soup (that was a special), the mushroom spoonbread, and the watermelon salad.”

  1. Tipsy Parson is a solid place for brunch or dinner.  Southern/American food that is pretty heavy on the butter.  AKA a perfect place to grab breakfast after a night of drinking.  My favorite is "building" your own biscuit by selecting the type of biscuit, toppings, meat, and if you want a piece of fried chicken (of course you do).  It's a bit on the pricey side for what you get, but this is Chelsea.  If you grab a solid meal and a drink plan to spend about $50 with tax and tip for brunch.

The service is usually friendly, and the place has a very homey feel.

  2. Well isn't this place just adorable! I think my favorite thing about coming here was the decor. It reminded me of either being in the South at a beautiful plantation home or being at a quaint flat in London. The attention to detail makes for a great ambiance.

I had the farm stand. I was trying to eat healthy so I didn't have the biscuit bomb I really wanted but my friends raved about it. As for what I had, the veggies were fresh and beautiful, and the poached eggs were done perfectly. What else can you ask for?

It was a sunny day and this restaurant had a lot of light coming in as well. It's small but I never felt claustrophobic. My friend handled these brunch plans but I hear you better have a reservation.

  3. I came here only for drinks, but everyones food around us look really good! The drinks were very tasty and well crafted (appreciate a nice cocktail). The server took 8 peoples orders without writing them down so I was pretty impressed! I'd like to return for some brunch next time as it seems like it was pretty popular the time we were there.

  4. I came to tipsy parson on MLK so they were serving brunch and it was nothing short of great. The menu is filled with interesting brunch options. It was very hard to chose. Come 1pm the place was filled wall to wall. We definitely ordered more food than we could eat but we had to try it all. I opted for a healthier option. The farm stand- which was okay….And my friend got the scone and fried chicken which she couldn't even finish. The fries were great much better than the deep fried pickles.

The service was good too! our server even gave us recommendations for what to do later

  5. Easter Sunday….where to eat?  We were walking around the city and decided to head over to the Highline, but lunch first and since we needed to head back to Chelsea, we figured we stop here….which has become a ritual with each visit to NYC.  This has become my second favorite restaurant and never disappoints.  They were busy and we didn't have a reservation, but there was a table available in the bar area which was perfect.

They have high tables now in the bar.  And it was good to see they kept the small round tables in the window and the little lounge area in the other.  Our server, Nik took great care of us and explained the brunch menu, which is limited since we've only been here previously for dinner. They have an eclectic wine list and we ordered a bottle of Mencia which we've never had and it was really good!  I ordered the fried chicken and waffles.  The chicken was very crispy and juicy!  Nik also gave me their house made bar-b-q sauce that had a little fiery kick to it…very good!  Daveed had the house burger with white cheddar…another very good dish!  And I ordered the mac n cheese with bacon…another staple when coming here.

A very lively crowd and great music from the 80s playing.  What more could you ask for on a beautiful Easter Sunday in New York City!

  6. Stopped in here last Sunday, cool space pretty mellow and they had Tank 7, so I was fine. Would go back to try the food.

  7. A very solid brunch place, which can get super crazy as the day goes on.  Been a few times and never had a bad meal.  Love the crispy bacon (how I prefer) and yummy toasts and various egg dishes.  Great BLT as well.  Always fun cocktails!

  8. well, it's a cute place with rustic decor and commune table and backroom. I like the cozy setup on a sunny Sunday morning. Waiters are also quite friendly
The food is standard, for the price, you may be a bit underwhelmed- we got poached eggs and chicken and waffle. Well… again, they are solid, but nothing to write home about

It somehow became a popular brunch spot, with typical bros that are recovering from last night's party with more simosas… you get the idea
