  1. This is the closest and most convenient Asian grocery store I go to. A decent variety of items for this size of store; albeit smaller than Kam Man.

They have a good variety of Asian greens at reasonable prices, but a small selection of fruits. They sell fresh roasted whole pig and BBQ pork on Saturdays…get them while they're hot! Seafood is limited to what you see. They can deep fry any fish you want. During the Spring, they'll have balut (2 week old duck eggs).

I mostly come here for staple items like soy sauce, cooking wine, Lao Gan Ma dry chili paste, sesame oil, etc.

Their scallions are ok in price; you can find cheaper ones at Patel Brothers across N. Beverwyck.

All in all, this is a good Asian grocery store.

  2. Kind of cramped and pricy on certain items, but really good selection that is difficult to find elsewhere, and the fish counter looked super fresh and well iced.

  3. Service was good here when I was shopping here with my mom yesterday on a Wednesday around 11 am. Unfortunately, I think the selection of produce and meats has reduced. There was no roast pork, no hot foods, and the fish selection was poor.

It is a little on the dirty side but I've grown up with this place and can accept it. The cashiers were male and Hispanic and seemed a little more friendly than the Asian ladies who used to tend the registers.

Nevertheless, there is still a good selection of Asian products and the vegetables, some of which may be exotic and unfamiliar, are decently priced.

  4. I love this store for their fish selection! The fish looks fresh and the prices are very reasonable!

The food selection seems wide, but I'm not cooking Asian food, so I'm not familiar with the offerings.

The store could be cleaner, but it's tolerable. The cashiers don't really speak English, but it doesn't bother me personally.

If you are looking for something specific here, good luck finding it! It's hard to find an English speaking employee who would be able to help.

  5. This is the other Chinese supermarket in Parsippany. It's smaller than Kam Man, and the selection is more limited than Kam Man, but there are a few items that are not found in Kam Man. I don't frequent this place that often, but I do enjoy stopping by at times.

  6. I used to like coming here for a change of pace.  The service was never great, and while I probably know why, I won't say so here.  I still think this place is decent place to shop as they do have some GREAT hard to find items that even some of the other Asian markets I use don't seem to have (or I just can't find).  I DO wish the produce and meat/fish selections were a bit bigger, but like another reviewer mentioned, it forces a quicker rotation.

Staff still isn't the friendliest group of people I've seen, but I think the selection here will force me to give them a pass…for now.

  7. It's changed over the years.  Looks like the produce section is smaller.  The smell is worse but they do have many hard to find items.

it also seems like they are more "round eye" friendly. ….. years ago – if you were not Asian, they treated you like shit.
