  1. They used to be Tost Cafe then changed to Red Cafe. Their food is OK if you're lazy and live on the same block. They have signature salads that charge every time you order. They always come in under 30 minutes.

The inside has a seating area with stools facing the street. I would never stay to eat my food because I don't want people looking at me while I eat. The menu is above their food station. Just think subway chains but with fresher food.

I always get the Sante fe chicken salad. I like that chips are added. Their prices are not reasonable. Of course eating healthy is never cheap. The burritos are pretty good too. Their add on extras are pretty pricey.

The drinks are outrageously priced but I love them. The bubble tea is good but seasonal, wish it wasn't. They can add proteins or ginseng for $1.00. The people who work here are very nice.

  2. Tost makes me sad. It is like the millions of "midtown lunch" places found all over New York. I pass it on the way to work so I eat here sometimes for variety.

Their big issue is consistency. For what it is, the food isn't half bad. It's just that I've tried breakfast sandwiches, paninis, wraps, pasta, and more, and I never know if I will be getting a hot and tasty meal or a hot mess. The staff (especially the people working the register) are also extremely abrupt and unfriendly.

Not something to desperately avoid by any means, but don't come in with high hopes.
