  1. I was here on Sunday afternoon for an engagement party. It was a buffet style and it was beautifully set up. The staff that waited on us were very attentive and extremely friendly. The food was very good, fresh and well seasoned. We had meatballs, eggplant parm, tomato mozzarella, penne a la vodka.. The salad was very good also.  We had a very good time. If you ever need to throw an event please don't hesitate to call them. There was only one thing i didnt like-their coffee. It was bitter and didnt taste good at all but everything else was perfect. You will not be disappointed if you book here.

  2. We made the trek to Trattoria Lucia because my aunt wanted to celebrate her birthday here. In my opinion, although the service was pleasant, it was extremely slow. It was a Saturday around lunchtime and we were one of two tables there, so it was difficult to understand why the waitstaff was inattentive. In terms of the food, I came away disappointed with my dish; I ordered a pesto dish and it was essentially pasta floating in oil. I could only eat a quarter of it before stopping. Aside from one other person not enjoying their dish, everyone else seemed satisfied so its possible its only some of their entrees that are lacking. However, definitely not a strong enough impression to warrant going all the way to Queens for this.

    HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I lunched here with a friend on Sunday, 2/28. An attorney in the law office where I work, whose daughter works here, recommended this excellent family-owned Italian restaurant. Trattoria Lucia is notable for its broad menu, offering more than 25 pasta dishes, excluding specials. The restaurant also features two prix fixe menus based upon a list of 12 entrees from the regular dinner menu which rotates monthly. It is very close to the Nassau County line on the north side of Jericho Turnpike, about .3 of a mile east of the Cross Island Parkway. In contrast to most Queens dining venues, parking is a pleasure because the restaurant is virtually next to a bank which permits diners to park in its large lot when the bank is closed.

Upon arrival, our pleasant waiter and apparent jack of all trades, Billy, greeted us with a smile and seated us. We were seated in a small dark half-booth area to the rear of the bar, ostensibly because parties were scheduled in the restaurant's three dining rooms. I would have prefered to sit at a table.

The food arrived promptly. Billy was very attentive to detail, alerting me to the choking hazard posed by the coffee beans in my Expresso Martini. He also asked if I wanted the Seafood Lucia(a mixed seafood platter) Fra Diavlo style or non-spicy.The female bus person cleared empty plates promptly.

The Expresso Martini, which Billy made, was superb, equal or better than any other ones I've had in Italian restaurants. It was perfectly balanced in its sweetness and must have contained coffee or chocolate liqueur, a touch I love. My friend and I shared a portion of ten Baked Clams ($12.95). They were very good, medium-sized and whole, with the bread and clams in perfect proportion. There was also plenty of wet breading in the dish containing the clams which we used to further season the clams. The Seafood Lucia ($30.95) was also excellent. The portion was large, flavorful and fresh. The accompanying linguine was cooked perfectly al dente. My entree came with a House Salad which I enjoyed tremendously.I credit the restaurant for attending to detail because most "house salads" that I've had have been afterthoughts, limp and uninspiring. Trattoria Lucia's salad contained a nice mixture of both red and green lettuce. The accompanying balsamic vinegar dressing was a tasty topper. My friend advised that he enjoyed his Flounder/Shrimp special very much.

We both finished with the Peanut Butter Pie, which, quite frankly, is reason enough to dine here. I eat dessert out many times a year and, in the past year, I have not tasted a dessert so delicious. It was sweet, but not too sweet. It had a wallop of dense peanut butter flavor but still tasted light and airy at the same time. The Peanut Butter Pie is a winner.

I loved Trattoria Lucia so much that I scheduled a dinner for sixteen for our Meetup group on March 20th.

I'm looking forward to returning to Trattoria Lucia!!!!

  4. I have eaten here twice, both times without disappointment.

The first time, I went in to the restaurant I sat and ate.  I had the special and it was very delicious.  The service was even better, I believe the owner was the person helping me and I forgot his name.  I enjoyed the shrimp scampi and the salad…. the stuffed mushrooms are to die for!

The second time I went in everything was also great.  I ordered my meal to go and it was perfectly packaged and ready for me to eat when I got home.

The restaurant gets a lot of business, there is always a long line of people going in and out and the service is never bad.

This place is in a  good neighborhood, plenty of parking and has outdoor seating.

The reason I am giving this place a 4 star rating rather than a 5 is because of someone that I encountered in the restaurant today. She appeared to be the owner or a manager and the way she treated her staff wasn't very nice.  She was very aggressive and demeaning.

Otherwise, I will continue to eat here and recommend others to dine ehre as well.

  5. my mom was nice and got us a groupon for this place since well I love Italian 🙂 and we live only 10 mins away. only bad thing was parking but it wasn't that difficult to go park on the street. anyway I got the carbonara with penne and omg was so good. even my hubs kept stealing my food. his chicken sorrentino was good also, but my pasta was just beyond delicious. anyway I'd definitely come back here with or without a groupon.

  6. Let's be honest, if you live in Floral Park/Bellerose/QV you're stacked with a few Italian options, and even more options to grab a drink. One of the few places over these three zip codes that has been a sure thing is TL.

Now that I'm back in NY, I am loyal to this place above any outfit between Vernon Boulevard and Little Neck Parkway. Even just for a dirty martini, they make a strong drink at a fair price. Follow it up with a mozzarella in carrozza and you're really gonna feel it.

Speaking of feeling through drinks, Paint Nite here is one of my favorite local things to do. I tend to turn on a business over time, but the Tratts always keeps me happy.

  7. Trattoria Lucia is a phenomenal restaurant located in Bellerose right off of Jericho Turnpike. I have been to this establishment many of times and never left disappointed! It is a family owned Italian restaurant that makes you feel right at home.

I recently came here with my mother and had a great time. We were quickly seated by the host and seconds later our waiter Matt came over to greet us and explained the specials of the day. He was very attentive and had a great positive attitude. My mother requested a cocktail which was not on the menu, but Matt asked what was in it and made it for her anyway! Bread is immediately placed on the table with olive oil combined with different types of spices and herbs.

The portion sizes are rather larger (NOT COMPLAINING) so you will most definitely be bringing a doggie-bag home! I ordered the chicken scarpariello and it exceeded my expectations! Main dishes usually come with either a house salad or a potato croquette. The croquette is very filling so only have a few bites ;D

Trattoria Lucia is a restaurant my family and I will be coming to for years due to its impeccable service, quality/quantity of food, location, and ambiance!

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK, #1 RESTAURANT IN BELLEROSE!

  8. Fantastic ambiance, friendly staff, good food, and decent wine. Parking isn't too bad and they really make you feel welcome. Shrimp is a bit over cooked but you can't expect it to be just done when it comes to a hot buffet.
