  1. Although a bit out of the way, the food was well with the extra minutes traveled. I ordered the lunch special and the portion was definitely a lunch portion but much pricier than the normal takeout. Here is why, the food is fresh, this I can tell with each bite. The rice was very good and the chicken was flavorful. I ordered Tso chicken and shrimp fried rice. I was very full after eating only half of my food! I'll definitely be back to dine in with my family.

  2. Wow! I've had Chinese food from coast to coast and across the pond in England. This is one of the greats! This food could easily be served in a fancy atmosphere. You can tell when the ingredients in a dish are fresh and there is no mistaking it here. They have the same items as every other Chinese restaurant, except these are over the top! Besides being fresh, nothing is greasy or overly sauced. Something as simple as their chicken and broccoli has the perfect amount of sauce and fresh, crisp broccoli. Their House Special lo mein was the best I've ever had. My wife had the duck with vegetables and said it was outstanding. Generous portions too! There was plenty left over for dinner tomorrow night! I can't wait to try their other dishes!

  3. Excellent, refreshing Chinese lunch place! We were so lucky to find TS Ma. Everything on the menu was light, healthy, and fresh. Lots of options for lunch specials. And the service was friendly and quick!

I had chicken with mixed vegetables in a light garlic ginger sauce, with white rice & wonton soup. My husband chose the lemon chicken with egg fried rice & hot & sour soup. It was all delicious, and it all disappeared from our plates in a flash. You could really taste the freshness of the veggies (there was a distinct "snap!") and nothing felt oily, greasy, or heavy. We left the restaurant feeling great about ourselves and with tons of energy — and a takeout menu!

  4. Take out review:  Pretty reasonable priced for quality Chinese takeout.  Didn't love the lemon chicken, and the fried noodles were the pre- packaged type, neither of which are pluses.  But, overall the quality was very good and this will be my new go to for Chinese takeout.  I will update as I try some other menu items.

  5. Does healthier food translate to meh food? Upon craving Chinese food I came across this place on yelp with great reviews and took the chance. I can see why it's a bit pricey being healthier than the traditional Chinese Takeout spots, but not worth it for me.

    Pros:
-Crab Rangoons (another name was used on the menu) were really good with substantial filling unlike most places.
-Passion fruit iced tea was great.
    -Delievery was prompt.

    Cons:
-Chicken with veggies (requested spicy) was bland and I felt yucky trying to eat it. Did not like the flavor of the minute sauce they used one bit. Ended up stir frying it with my own spices. What's the point of take out when you end up doing work to fix what was ordered?
-Sweet and Sour soup was alright once I added a little soy sauce as it was lacking salt and a little flavor.

I'll be searching for authentic Chinese cuisine in Chinatown this year instead of locally.

  6. I came here with my family on Christmas Day one year (mainly because they were one of the only places around that was open!) and we sat down to eat. The place is very small and we had to wait a bit for a table, but we were seated as soon as a table became available. Our server greeted us very quickly and took our order. I ordered the Moo Shu Chicken, which was a large portion and was very tasty and flavorful. I took some of it home, so I asked for extra pancakes with my leftovers, which I think they charged me for. My brother ordered the Sesame Chicken, which was also a large portion and was very crispy and delicious. My dad ordered Egg Foo Young, which he enjoyed. He was telling us that most Chinese restaurants don't have Egg Foo Young on the menu, so he was pleasantly surprised that TS Ma did. My mom ordered the Moo Shu Pork, which was tasty as well and was very similar to the Moo Shu Chicken I ordered. I have yet to find decent Chinese food around where I live, so I am glad I came across TS Ma. They are now my go-to Chinese takeout place when I am craving good, quality Chinese food.

  7. Great local Chinese/Szechuan. Delivery is extremely fast and the online ordering system is easy to use.

Everything we've tried has been good. Excellent sesame shrimp and steamed pork dumplings. The steamed pork buns are actually soup dumplings, which were almost all broken when they arrived but still tasty. We probably wouldn't have them delivered again but would def order them if we dine in.

They have an extensive healthy menu and it's not just plain steamed stuff like most other places. Their garlic sauce is so good, and you can even get many sauces made gluten free for $1 extra. Brown rice is 50 cents extra.

My only complaint overall = the prices which are on the steep side. But at least the portions are generous and TS Ma's is far and away the best Chinese delivery we've tried since moving to the area.

  8. I don't believe they have the best Chinese food ever – (let's put on our food connoisseur hats on), but I will agree that TS Ma has fresher tasting, less greasier tasting food options than your typical Chinese take out spot in your town. It's a bit pricier than your average ($2-4 more), but you pay for it once you taste their food.

I had tried TS Ma just last night and had used their website to create my order. The website was very user friendly. It requires that your register, which made me hesitate mainly because, how much more of my info is out there is the internet world?! …but I did it anyway. I had ordered the SHRIMP & BROCCOLI, with the classic brown sauce, with white rice, and a GENERAL TSO, chose the less spicy sauce option, and with brown rice for an additional $1.00.

The website said that takeout would take 30 – 40 minutes and that if you picked the delivery option, it would take an hour to an hour and a half. I had my order delivered,  Laziness got the best of me so I had sucked up to the extra $2.00 convenience fee and $1.00 for delivery. My order was delivered in 40 minutes.

My Shrimp and Broccoli was really good! The Shrimp were HUGE and there was plenty of broccoli in the container. The sauce was rather light, but still tasty. Others would probably complain that it's not enough shrimp or too much broccoli for the dish, but again the shrimp were huge and were rationed correctly for the price (in retrospect to the restaurant's mark-up) I'm sure. The GENERAL TSO was made of super lean and huge chunks of chicken and too, very tasty! Definitely less breading than your normal Chinese Takeout spot.

TS Ma completely caters to Montclair residences I must admit, but with that said, I think I will be ordering from them more often. It's Chinese food without feeling so terrible after eating it.
