  1. This place is cute albeit a little bit dark inside even on a bright sunny morning. The cashier was not particularly warm are friendly but was reasonably efficient. People trickled in and she got them in and out quickly. My friend and I both got iced roiboos tease and they were delicious. My friend also got a bacon egg and cheese on whole wheat bread and it was enormous, with a ton of bacon, and just generally looked absolutely delicious. She scarfed it down and I was jealous.

I would definitely come back if I wanted a quick egg and cheese sandwich or something of the like as there aren't many places in the neighborhood. I would also probably come back just for coffee as in the immediate vicinity it's the most appealing option.

  2. Love. Love. Love. Awesome bread make rustic (haha) filling yummy sandwiches. They must cure their meats in house. I sometimes add in a juice. My other favorite is the salad with steak or the insanely good breakfast burrito.

  3. Very cool smoothie options and some strange ones as well.   Definitely expect a wait if you're coming on a weekend afternoon.   People come through for salads, breakfast sandwiches, beer, brunch, and caffeine drinks. They have everything here.  Also expect to pay a little more than most counter places in this area.

  4. Great place to refuel with a shake during a bike ride. Great selection of Brooklyn crafted pickles and New York beers.

  5. Fun little local grocery store with lots of fresh food options. Heard that their breakfast burritos are stellar. I loved my fresh, hot cider!

  6. I ordered inside and they brought my food to me in little outdoor seating area where I chose to sit with my little pup.

The service was nice and the food didn't take that long to come out. I had a breakfast burrito with salmon. I felt the ingredients were a little skimpy. I love pico de gallo with a fiery passion and there was literally one chunk of tomato in the whole burrito. And I am not saying literally in the sense that people always misuse literally – I mean there was actually only one tiny cube of tomato. Bummer.

  7. Tucked away from the more busy streets, Urban Rustic was a delight to find when I had time to spare before my yoga class.

Urban Rustic is great lunch spot for to-go items, juices and smoothies, and sandwiches. They have enough seating (go to the back of the restaurant for more!), and the ambiance is decent enough to get your study on.

I came here for a quick drink and got the juice Johns Brook with beets, carrot, kale and apple. It was refreshing and just the right amount of sweetness. As I watched the cafe workers prepare the lunches of other customers, I felt a pang of jealousy. The food looked really delicious and pretty. If only I had more time to stay longer…

Next time, Urban Rustic! I'll come back for more!

  8. I can't seem to find the location on South 2nd & Havemeyer St. through Yelp, and the establishment does not have a business name on their building.  However, their food is always wrapped with "Urban Rustic" tape, so I assume it's the same place.

I've had a breakfast sandwich with swiss, sausages and egg, all inside a potato roll.  Obviously delicious!  You can never go wrong with a class meat, egg & cheese breakfast roll.  I've also had the Urban Rustic Power Wrap, which is amazing.  Dabble some hot sauce on that bad boy.  Everything I've tried is good, but not 5-star great.  It tends to be a little too greasy for my taste.

However, this is a go to spot for breakfast on the go and I will be back for more.
