  1. Cozy environment — has that old school, charming feel. Came here with a few friends for dessert and ordered the almond NY Cheesecake, Pistachio tulip and Tiramisu. The NY Cheesecake was delicious , a little too savory for me , but definitely made with lots of love (and butter). The tiramisu was very good, but definitely had that stronger liquor taste. The Pistachio tulip was a great mousse and amazing idea to have in an edible chocolate tulip shaped  'container'. The atmosphere was cute and the dessert was good — nothing too amazing. The prices were fine but I do not think I would come back because even though the sweets were good, they were nothing to spectacular. Would give a 3.5/5

  2. This is without a doubt the best pastry shop in the city. I have been eating these cannoli for as long as I can remember, and EVERY TIME the shell is perfectly crisp and the creamy filling is absolutely delightful. Grabbing pastries to-go is a breeze, but make sure to dine-in sometime so that you can enjoy your cannoli or lobster tail (my second favorite item!) with a delicious espresso.

  3. After venturing out to Peter Pan Donuts and now, Veniero's, I can't help but think new isn't always better. New York is full of trendy bakeries, banking on ice cream-macaron sandwiches and bacon infused chocolate chip cookies, but you just can't beat the classics.

Out of curiosity, I Googled "Best cannolis in New York" and Veniero's is on one of the lists. Walking around the city, I stumbled upon the bakery/cafe and walked in. I just knew the desserts were going to be good because everything looked authentic. And the cheesecakes looked INSANE (in a good way).

I spoke with one of the friendly employees and he gave me a free rainbow cookie within seconds. He also gave me extra napoleans, free of charge, simply because they were a little messy. "Yes, of course! I'd be happy to take them," I said enthusiastically. THIS is the type of service you get at Veniero's: personable, genuine, and what one would expect back in the 1800s.

The napoleans are impeccable. Sweet, yes but balanced out with a cup of espresso, perfection. The mini vanilla cannoli is just as good, and I understand why it's on that list.

I highly recommend Veniero's but I'm sure everyone already knows about it. They staff is kind and they don't rob you of your money. I'll definitely be back on special occasions or when I'm in the area.

  4. Okay while trying to get some good cannoli, Veniero's Pastry Shop came up. The shop is nice and old fashioned inside, with a ton of desserts to chose from. Got the chocolate and vanilla cannoli. Me personally, I thought this cannoli was so dense! It was okay, but way to dense and filling. I'm not a huge fan of their cannoli, but I would like to try some other desserts here!

  5. Horrible horrible service. Waiter never came back to check on us, see if we wanted anything else. When were done with our coffee and dessert we sat there for almost 10 minutes and no-one came over. I guess the good news is that they are equal opportunity horrible servers cause I didn't notice waiters returning to any of the tables. Finally I flagged down a waiter almost running by my table to get the check. Of course, I then had to wait another 10 minutes while he took the orders of three other tables before coming back to us with the check. Wow!

Coffee. Excellent. We had the double expresso macchiato that was STRONG and delicious. Sadly, I will never return to this establishment or I would totally get this again.

Butter cookies. Soooo delicious with a great jelly filling. Loved them

Baba Canoli. Meh. Rum cake with the cannoli filling. Rum cake was good. Cannoli filling was good. The liquid it was swimming in…not so much. Glad I tried something new, but I probably should have just stuck to a traditional cannoli.

2 stars because the service was so abhorrently terrible. But the coffee and desserts were to die for.

  6. I was actually surprised by the freshness of their pastries late in the night. The prices are a little bit high for just a piece of cake but my carrot cake was really good even at 11pm

  7. I feel like this place is overrated. Yes, it's a classic and super cute in an old New York type of way, but overall was unimpressed with their pastries. Split a piece of Italian cheesecake and a Napoleon slice with a friend. We enjoyed the cheesecake, but not the Napoleon. While the cheesecake was good, it was not great. I would go elsewhere in the future.

  8. We stopped in here for dessert after lunch and they have a GREAT selection of pastries and cakes etc… We ordered three different things and each one of them was perfect! Why a 4 star instead of 5 star? There were only a handful of people in the bakery and it took them forever to get our order. They were friendly about it…just slow.
