  1. For what it is – an affordable, buffet-style Brazilian restaurant – Villa Brazil can't be beat. For $6/lb (if you opt out of the BBQ and salad bar), you can have yourself a FEAST of tasty Brazilian specialties. On my plate alone, I managed to have steak, greens, chicken, croquettes, maduros, and paella-style rice. The meats were juicy, croquettes crispy, greens fresh, and everything flavorful. All this, with drink for not even $13. The seating is a little limited, but the quality of the food for the price really is unbeatable. I hope to come back soon to try their desserts!

  2. What a find!  The buffet pricing starts at $5.99/lb., add an additional dollar for the BBQ, another $2 for the meats.

Have about a dozen or so different types of food to get at the main buffet, with another half dozen plus at the salad bar area, and several different cuts of meats/BBQ, where you wait in a line to get your specific cuts of meat.

Don't forget the green sauce at the tables!!!

The place is cafeteria style seating, so I'd recommend stashing your coat, or taking turns (if you come with at least another person) to "claim" seats as the place does get packed/busy.

Aside from that complaint, my only other one is that there are no labels for the items at the buffet, so I don't know what I'm grabbing (is that string onions or shredded potatoes in the cheese dish?).

  3. Within the context of authentic, Brazilian buffets, this is as good as it gets.   The quality of the meats is pretty high, whoever their beef purveyor is does a good job.  The guy at the grill is super friendly and knowledgeable.  The variety of the buffet is top notch, REALLY good on the essentials such as rice and beans, okra, etc — all the foundation items of Brazilian cuisine are done perfectly.   Desserts also good and the seating area is cute and very clean.   ++ all the way.   Oh and make sure you are extremely hungry before you go.

  4. If you crave meats, this is the place to go to. There's quite a nice selection of meats and it's buffet style priced by the pound. I especially enjoyed the sirloin and skirt steak. It was juicy and delicious. I think I could've just ate that nonstop haha. The pork sausages were pretty good. Unfortunately the bacon wrapped meat was still cooking when I was there. The hot buffet had a decent variety, I wish it was labeled since some things were pretty obscure and I wish there were little cups for the (hot) sauces they had above the salad bar. I didn't want to risk ruining the food by pouring these unknown sauces directly on the plate and there was simply no room left on the plate but to top them off. I'll definitely be back when I crave another round of brazilian meats!

  5. Okay. Yes! Yes! Yes! Layout similar to what you'd expect in local joints in Brazil. No frills baby. Everything is delish. And I mean e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-ggggg. Meats. Yes. Fish. Yes. Veggies. Yesss. Salad bar. Yes.

Everytime I go, it's a new adventure. Just go! Thank me later 🙂  And you will 😉 Oh yeah Uh huh that's right

  6. Villa Brazil has very delicious food and the ambiance feels more comfortable than for what you might expect for a place that has a NY pay-by-weight buffet bar. The meats were amazingly tender and delicious. Prices were wonderful, and honestly the dessert we had was just as good as the steak. Try the passion fruit cheese cake! It's amazing.

  7. This place rocks!  Chill cafe style buffet.  The buffet is well stocked and piping hot, cold food is nice and cold.  Just beware, you might end up taking way more food than you anticipated!  They charge by the pound here so choose your food wisely haha.

If you don't get any of the meat from the counter in the back, then you are missing out!  They barbecue their meat right in front of you and slice it order, fresh and juicy.  Perfectly seasoned, deliciously charred and crispy.  I have yet to eat something here that I didn't like.  My Dad had a Mango Juice and they made it fresh to order, it tasted wonderful.  Tasted like pure mango with a pinch of sugar, no fillers or fake mango purees.  I can't wait to go back!

  8. Just went here with a friend last night for dinner. It's a very cozy low key place hidden from the hustle and bustle of Steinway in an area known for its abundance of Brazilian restaurants and shops. They have a buffet style type of set up which the option of getting a selection of bbq meats and you pay by the pound. It was awesome ringing the huge bell, apparently I had to ring it twice since my hand didn't do the job the first time.

The food was plentiful , with a large selection to choose from. My plate was filled with Rice and beans, plantains, chicken wrapped in bacon and what I believed was collard greens with eggs and chickpeas while my friend had something similar with the exception of chicken breast and legs. The staff were incredible, very friendly and helped explain how everything was set up, and I'm grateful for their help. I still can't get pass everything being so delicious and the warmth of the atmosphere and food definitely beat the chill of the night. Villa Brazil for the win!!!
