  1. Oh Zamaan Bar, your hookah is tres delicioso. Filling the base with orange juice for my rose hookah, definitely hit the spot and took me to cloud nine. Merci. merci. But your food though, what's the problema? How can your pita bread be such a giant fail? It's pita bread. Why is yours so wafer thin and disgusting? And your hummus. Why so bland? Oh the disappointment. Whatevs, I guess your cozy setting and Middle Eastern ambiance, with your win of a hookah and chatty owner make up for what you severely lack in the culinary department. I'll be sure to not come with an empty stomach next time.

  2. We came to Zamaan early on a Saturday night and were able to get a table for two right away. However, quickly throughout the night, the bar filled up and there was soon a line outside.

We ordered blueberry hookah in a pineapple — had never tried the pineapple twist before, but it was really fruity and paired well with the blueberry. The flavors deepened as the night went on.

The atmosphere is loud and club-like with the playlist. Most customers are seated at tables, but still dancing in their seats.

  3. I showed up alone and had 2 friends coming to meet me.. I sat down at the Bar because it was crowded every where else… Enjoying my hookah, hoping no racist stuff happens.. The door opens and its the Bouncer calling me to the door! My friend couldn't get in unless i came and pointed and said yes thats her.. Then my male friend shows up, well dressed…He text me and said come get me.. I came to the door and he's arguing with the manager about them saying they reached their occupancy limit.. So why are they letting people in the spot still.. I couldn't understand for the life of me why they told him it was crowded.. It wasn't.. Finally the manager agreed to let him in…Woman or Man they don't care.. Once they decide to close the doors they don't want anyone else in there.. The tall Russian chick with blonde hair was very rude last night.. They forget your SPENDING money…WE aren't blowing smoke out our AZZ..  I am offended for the people that i invited.. And the guy was just there Monday spending money!!

  4. I know it's non traditional but I love a shisha place that plays dope hip hop music!
Me and my troops had dinner in Williamsburg and decided we should end the night with some shisha (hookah). We walked around and found this little gem after maybe 15 mins of walking. There is a sign outside that mentions a 2 drink minimum (doesn't have to be alcohol) which was fine with us. We walked in and got seats right near the window. Was a bunch of little round tables with a couch and some chairs surrounding. Multiple groups are near each other as the space isn't that big and you have to maximize the space but I don't mind. The actual hookahs are smaller than what I'm used to but function as they should. We got the watermelon mint which is awesome…very mellow! They had lots of interesting flavors that I would love to come back and try. I bet the peanut butter flavor is awesome!

  5. i loved the dj here, he played all the good throwback hits, loved it alot, it was loud so i couldnt hear my boyfriend , but we danced along
the hookah is good, not too strong, same goes for drinks, and the pricing wasnt too bad
it is too crowded in this place, try to get there early if you want a good seat at the bar
the bathroom was gross, and the place is always packed so the line is huge
i never tried the food, but i heard its nothing special.

  6. The pal Sinton is doing a cool weekly party here on Thurs so the crew and I decide to check it out and support.

The walk from the G train isnt all that pleasant on a rainy night, but Zamaan offers a lovely, sensual respite from the outside world.

The decor is a hit. Very eastern, and as I said before, sensual. Plenty of bar seating and further beyond is a cozy lounge area. I didn't go out back – it was rainy.

The sound system was also quite impressive. Sinton and the fellow DJs were def keeping the cool crowd on their toes and bobbin' heads.

Something not too cool was the food. Jewelz and I wanted just a tiny bite to accompany our drinks, so we decide to nibs on the hummus and, since glutttony struck, the mozzarella sticks, as well.

While the hummus was alright, the cold, dry pita was not. Similarly, the mozzarella sticks were also fine but the fresh-from-the-fridge cold marinara sauce – NOT ok.

By bf shows up later, orders the grape leaves and same deal. Taste OK but still fresh-from-fridge freezing.

So, stating the obvious – Zamaan is a sweet bar/lounge and one shouldnt go expecting impressive food. Go for the hookah, drinks, friendly crowd, lovely ambiance, and smooth sounds. Or better yet, go for Sinton's fun Thurs night jams.
