I wanna like this place, I've been numerous times, it's got that charming neighborhood vibe inside but honestly the execution just seems lazy, going thru the motions.
The beer selection is short not interesting. The wine selection is barely above mass-produced juice. So not a exciting place to drink substance-wise (no pun intended)
The brunch/dinner food is neither unique or particularly memorable. I've had their mediocre burger repeatedly and it's just sorta whatever.
To riff off 'Gladiator' — good enough for the provinces, but not for Rome.
This place is great. Nothing amazing to bowl me over but I've been about 10 times now and have never had a bad experience. The food is good (not great) but everything seems very fresh. It's perfect for a quick lunch/dinner or a nice brunch. Their veggie burger is probably the best thing on the menu, however I think it's a bit over priced. During the summer they have great outdoor seating. Try it out a weeknight.
Super nice waitress / bartender. Impeccable service. And killer drinks. Although I didn't like my teatini- just wasn't my thing – my friends drink was amazing.
Will be back!!
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. I was starvingand in the neighborhood and decided to get some brunch – they advertised hangar steak & eggs on their bulletin board outside. It got me instantly. I've been here before, but will probably not return. I dont know what was going on.
I walked in…no greet, no smile, just a quick physical acknowledgement and then both bartender and server continued doing their thing. I just stood by the door for a few minutes and just sat myself after realizing nobody was going to say anything…nope, i dont get a hello either. sorry.
I ordered the steak and eggs with a mimosa. The mimosa was returned – their prosecco was flat and it taste like straight up juice. I recieved my plate – small portion, salty side salad (yup.SALTY!) my steak came well done instead of the medium rare that was requested. I ask for a margarita to replace the mimosa. It was drink-able.
i recieved the bill. small, mediocre in taste steak & egg entree cost $21 (plus tax)…..yea….never returning. so not worth it…you can go anywhere else and get more food and better tasting. and the staff anywhere else wouldnt mind greeting you or saying something with a smile.
Please read the first line again.
After volunteering at the Sean Casey Shelter, my friend and I built up an appetite and wanted something good to eat. Since I've been here quite a few times and my brunch experiences has always been great, this was one of the places that I recommended.
We arrive around 1pm and this restaurant was packed but not so much were the wait would be ridiculous.
The vibe felt great and I liked their wooden booth which looked very pub-ish. Once seated we were immediately greeted with a smile and the service felt fantastic.
I ordered their two eggs w/ fries ($8) and a side of sausage ($4/4 links), while my friend ordered their Huevos Rancheros that came with cheese, black beans, tomato sauce, sour cream and guacamole. We both thought our food was delicious and but what stood out most where their Bloody Mary. Not only did the alcohol gave a good kick but it was nice and spicy!
I would certainly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good meal and a friendly face! Best of all, they also have backyard seating when the weather gets warm.

This restaurant definitely fits under this definition! My friend and I got brunch here and the food was so good! I highly recommend the eggs benedict w/ salmon… mm.. and the server was so kind to let me substitute some of the items without extra charge.
Brunch is a bit on the pricier side, but it doesn't disappoint!
Hey Alchemy!
I'm liking that you guys were kind enough to accommodate a group of 5 famished climbers on a mission for sustenance at 11:45pm on a Wednesday night, 15 minutes before the kitchen closed.
The good things:
– Fully grown, hangry adults may opt to order from the kids menu, including the kiddie burger, which is essentially a slider on an English muffin (as a side note, something is wrong when the only girl at the table is also the only one who orders – and consumes – a full sized MEAT burger)
– Option to swap out fries for a salad (extra $0.50) or brussels sprouts, spicy kale (extra $1.50)
– Hard cider of the day! Dry, kind of cloudy / unfiltered textured, not terribly sweet
– You can be That Person who orders risotto 15 minutes before kitchen closing, and not even get attitude about it!
– Seemingly lots of excellent beer options, at least from what a non-beer drinker (if not obvious from my love for cider) could tell
– Pretty delicious food! The turkey burger was delicious, topped with decently fresh avocado
The bad things:
– Really nothing comes to mind.
I would definitely come here again, and most likely will.
This place is really chill with an authentically tavern feel. The food was pretty solid, no over seasoning or salting anywhere, and service was fast and on point. A super convenient 10 min walk from AtlanticAve-Barclays Center and a pretty extensive brunch menu makes this place in my top 10 for convenient and yummy brunch spots in Brooklyn.
