  1. had a really nice time lounging outdoors and grabbing a bite here. i built my own burger, which comes with two free toppings of your choosing. meat was cooked perfectly, and i really enjoyed the kaiser roll they had it on. cool thing to know: they have half price bottles of wine after 4pm every sunday, so you dont have to be feel bad about skipping the liquor store. will definitely be back.

  2. Not sure why this is rated so poorly. I think it's fabulous, great options from brunch/lunch, ample seating area and the patio seems to always be busy!!!!

Came once a for wine and a salad and both were great. Came another time for a weekday brunch type meal and had a veggie wrap with sweet potato fries. While the veggies were cooked in more oil than my diet, or I, had hoped for it was still delicious none the less!

  3. I've just had drinks here and they were great and served fast. It's a cool spot to hang out at late at night after having had dinner at one of the many good restaurants in the area. I'm giving a high rating because of sentimental value and memories – this was the very first bar I went to after my first visit to the US!

  4. I'm not sure why, but Banc almost never has a wait.  It's been my 'secret' brunch place for when my friends and I haven't planned ahead and want to go somewhere at 11 am on a Sunday.  Their brunch prices are very reasonable for NYC, with many dishes around $10, but their delicious farmer's flatbread is $15.

Last Friday night, I ventured in for happy hour with some friends, and we were seated within a couple of minutes.  They have $5 beer, $6 wine, and $7 cocktails.  Their wheat beer was quite good (a step up from blue moon).  We had a great time at a rounded booth, so all 6 of us could interact.

Some of us got food, and they had a variety to offer.  You could go for a side dish and get their very cheese mac n cheese, or you could get a main dish like their flatbread with salad and not overly seasoned truffle fries, or you could order their bar food and get the chicken tenders with honey mustard sauce.  The chicken tenders were $10 and they essentially gave me 3 fillets of breaded chicken.  Very moist and a ton of meat, but to be honest, I would have loved just some fried strips of chicken.

I will definitely come back here for brunch and happy hour, but probably not for dinner because their menu has a lot of dishes $20+, and I'm not yet sure if the quality of the food can justify that.  Regardless, I recommend this place!

  5. Came here for brunch on Father's day.  The salads with the addition of either shrimp or chicken were $20 per.  That's a little pricey.  However, both salad-eaters said the food was excellent.  I very much enjoyed the California omelet and appreciated being able to sub out the starch for a salad.

The place has a lot of charm and if possible, one should try to sit outside as they have seating both on the avenue and the side street.

Our server, Emir K, was excellent.  Excellent Emir!

  6. Super cute and friendly neighborhood bar/restaurant with great ambiance! I came here for dinner when 4 of my out of town friends were visiting. We originally tried to go to a place around the corner but they had nothing available. We ended up at Banc simply because they had no wait and were able to seat us right away. We sat at the circle table right on the end of the bar so instead of having a waiter or waitress we were served by the bar tenders. Everyone there is super friendly and Scottish? I believe. Irish? Anyways, great accents. The food was just okay. No one was really thrilled with their dish but no one complained either. I had the flank steak. I need to stop ordering steaks at anywhere other than a steak house because they are rarely good. The fries were, though. Overall I might come back for drinks and appetizers.

  7. Nothing bad to say about banc. Just love the service, food, location… Always s good meal and not badly priced.

  8. Came for brunch with 4 of us. Two of us got the chicken and waffles (one couple shared one) and one got the beet salad. The waffles were cooked perfectly. Only two fried tenders with these, but they were good too. Beet salad was presented very well and taste was spot on. Good beer selection and nice patio. Very surprised with this place. Def wouldn't mind coming back.
