  1. Ahi tuna wrap!

  2. This restaurant deserves 4 stars because the food and service are outstanding.  The food is fresh and the staff is friendly.  I've been coming here for awhile now and have never had a bad meal.

Great spot for lunch and dinner

  3. I've been wanting to try Bennies for quite some time now since I work in the area and I'm really glad I finally went.

I ordered the Kebob Special, which included a chicken or lamb kebob and 3 sides from the salads/sides options. I thought it was so much food, and it was, but it was all excellent so I was glad to have some leftover for another day. I ended up going with the lamb kebob, babagnoug, sauteed mushrooms, and Mediterranean salad. Nothing bad, to say here.

I will comment on the price though $17 is pretty steep, even considering the area and I ordered it for pick-up. Not sure that I would do take-out again, but I would love to go back for dinner.

  4. Solid appetizers, salads, and kabobs.  I love the Yogurt & Cucumber dip with pita, roasted beets, and hummus.  The grape leaves are solid but pretty standard, as is the Greek salad.  For a larger groupo, I would highly suggest the Mazza as it gives you a taste of everything.  The chicken kabobs are extra tender, which I prefer, but if you like your chicken SUPER well-done, I would request that.

  5. Just had an awesome lunch from Bennies! Finally found absolutely delicious Mediterranean food in our area!

We ordered a bunch of different menu items to try out.

Hummus with pita, lebneh dip, cranberry salad, pistachio crusted chicken wrap, Mini Pies: cheese and spinach, GARLIC POTATOES (OMG a must try) , chicken shwarma sandwich, falafel wrap, chicken kabob and kufta kabob.

The hummus with pita was creamy and smooth with a pickled vegetable on top, tasted really fresh. Lebneh dip wasn't as tart as I'm used to but still very good. The mini pies were perfectly prepared with a delicious and light filling. The GARLIC POTATOES are amazing, flavored with garlic and lemon, definitely grab those as a side order with whatever you order. The chicken shwarma was jammed packed with grilled chicken, served w/ parsley, tomatoes, pickles, onions, garlic spread & tahini sauce. Everyone is still talking about that sandwich and I can't wait to try it out myself. My falafel wrap was pretty good, filled with a traditional falafel chock full of chickpeas. I requested no tomatoes, pickels or tahini and I loved it. My boss requested that I ask if they can make a custom dish for him with hummus, garlic potatoes with a chicken and kofta kabob. They did it without hesitation which was really nice and the kabobs were out of this world. He let me try some of the kofta kabob which I'm normally not a fan of but this out bursting with so many different flavors it left me craving more.

Bennies also has some really great hot sauce if you are into the spicy scene. Almost comparable to hot oil we get when we order Chinese food but with MUCH more flavor and a really nice taste to it. We all can't wait to order from here again later this week!

  6. Bennies is consistently great in their food and service so I guess this 5-star rating was long overdue. What I like most about Bennies is that they seem to focus on (somewhat) healthy mediterranean food and are conscious of the ingredients/quality —

this means I never feel horrible after a food coma from Bennies.

I like getting the "pick 3 sides for $13" option on the menu, available lunch and dinner, which offers plenty of good choices like hummus, baba ganoush, grilled eggplant, lentils, etc. I always end up getting at least the hummus and/or baba ganoush. Ordering sides like hummus may not sound like a lot but trust me when I say the quantity of food will be sufficient for most people. If not though, you can also order extras like a kabob for just $3 extra. I highly recommend the lamb kabobs, which are excellent and don't taste gamey at all.

Maybe one day I will just go into Bennies and order like 10 lamb kabobs.

    And a schwarma wrap.

    No regrets.

  7. 3.5 stars.

I decided to try this place because it seems to be one of the most popular places per yelp at least.  I had a take out of seasonal special with lamb.  I thought the portion was a little smaller than I expected for the price I paid.

falafel was not bad.  Lamb was not bad either.  Unfortunately it didn't bring me the strongest impression.  Nevertheless I am planning to try this place in the future as I would like to try other dishes.

  8. Came here for dinner with my parents before a show at Bergen PAC.

The staff was very friendly and made great recommendations. Their chicken kebab was one of the best I ever had. I also really enjoyed their grape leaves and sesame noodles. The honey cake was good as well.

BYOB. We will be coming back here.
