  1. Crepes were good. Could use a bit more flavor. Place is cute. My complaints and reasons for three stars, asked for chocolate milk they said they didn't have chocolate milk but they can make hot chocolate. And the griddle for the crepes wasn't on all the way so that nice crisp top wasn't present at all. This could be a great place but they need a bit of work.

  2. After a disappointing experience with the sweet crepe from their TriBeCa location, I return to By Suzette to try their savory selection (curtesy of Belly app).

I checked in at the register with my app and the staff quickly went over the menu. For my freebie – I was allowed to choose any one protein, one cheese, two toppings, and one sauce. I went with smoked salmon, mozzarella cheese, soft peppers, cooked onions, and cream of artichokes. As I watched the staff assembled my order, I noticed the amount of fillings/toppings was minimal/lacking. 4 thinly sliced smoked salmon, 3 pieces of soft pepper, a spoonful of cooked onion, half a spoonful of cream of artichoke sauce, and a sprinkle of mozzarella. And as I was cutting/eating through it, all the fillings/toppings were lost. It tragically became forkful/mouthful of dry, lukewarm crepe skin.

Overall – the quality of my crepe explained why their TriBeCa location has closed its door and why I was the lone customer claiming a freebie from the store. Definitely didn't convince me to return.

  3. Additional seating upstairs!

I ordered a sweet sugar+butter crepe and added strawberries and it was really good, but they were kinda stingy with the fruit. My friend ordered a savory ham crepe and added mushrooms, potatoes, and tomatoes and that wasn't bad, but it lacked in flavor. It was just sort of bland.

Cute atmosphere though. Nice and quiet. Good for a first date.

  4. I'm a big crepe fan, both sweet and savory, so when By Suzette opened up, I was pretty ecstatic.  I remember when they were passing out free crepe cards after their grand opening. The line was getting close to 1/4 a block long when I got on and was barely moving, so I eventually gave up.  Bummer!  Nonetheless, I decided to go back one day to try their smoked salmon buckwheat crepe and …. was really disappointed.  The crepe was bland and they were a tad stingy with the smoked salmon.  The crepe was flatter than a pancake and really lacked flavor.  I mean, I paid close to $9 so I would expect something more fulfilling and filling.

Last week, I obtained a free crepe from the Belly app and gave them another shot.  No difference … bland.  Service was okay but the crepe definitely needs to be turned up 2 notches, both aesthetically and in flavor.  Don't mean to be harsh, just providing some objective feedback.  I'd return again to check on improvements, if any, just to be fair.

  5. Thanks for their crepes, I don't have to cook my own lunch. I had savory crepe for the first time and it was interesting

Location: this place is on the 8th Ave close to 35th street. I used to see this crepe chain line at multiple urban marketing places like in Columbus circle and union square. I got surprised that they opened up their own stores so soon.  Places has two floors and some seating for a short time of stay.  The whole process of crepe involves with some smoking and some noise.  I can smell the smoke while I was waiting.  I guess they need to work on building something to get rid of indoor air pollutant which should be a concern for all customers

I had savory crepe. It was okay. The cheese is too salty( I dislike cheese). Otherwise, it was a good and cheap one.

Service is nice. Nice and new.  Staff are inexperienced but friendly.

Overall: a 3.5 stars maybe worth trying

  6. My son and I were taking a stroll through the city and decided to go to Buddy's bakery. On our way, we found this hipster crepier (sp?) and decided to go there instead of the tourist trap. Cute interior…reasonable prices….quick service and palatable crepes.

We ordered the sugar and butter with an extra sprinkle of cinnamon. Very tasty, but the crepe was heavy not light. It wasn't quite a pancake, but almost lol. My son had the Nutella crepe. He said it was good. My fave from the trip was the box the crepe came in….totes adorbs!

I will be back to try some of their less sweet options and because I joined the rewards program, Belly.

  7. I was throughly impressed by the savory crepe that I had at Suzette's last weekend. I ordered a crepe with ham and swiss, tomatoes, spinach, and artichoke spread; it was seriously fantastic. I would definitely go back again to have a crepe if I am in the area. The base price is $6.50 and then for each item it is an additional $.65. There is ample seating upstairs and the place is definitely reminiscent of Paris; it took me back to when I traveled to Paris long ago. Actually, it may be time to head back sometime in the near future!! For anyone looking for something a little different to eat, head over to get a crepe!! You surely won't be disappointed!!

  8. Every time my friend and I travel together, we try to find a great crepe place for breakfast. We were staying at the New Yorker and By Suzette was just across the street.

The cafe is in a small two story building. There is very limited seating downstairs and a few tables upstairs. We ordered our crepes and found a table upstairs and waited. We waited way too long for our crepes, probably close to 20 minutes which is entirely way too long for a crepe that cooks maybe 1 minute on each side. My friends order was wrong and had to be sent back. Once we did receive our food, however, it was good.

I don't know if I'd be back just because I know there are many other options in the city but if you're close by, give it a shot.
