Cafe Oak

“I def need to come back to try some other things like their shaved ice desserts and the injeolmi waffle..”

“They have a new twist to desserts such as their pupu bread (Nutella!!!), sea salt coffee, and a Korean twist to waffles with real honey.”

“you can find similar menu items at other cafes but i've tried them all and this dessert is more than that-it's a sweet and more substantial post-meal snack 🙂

nata de coco
10/10 basically a sorbet(?)”

  1. Passed by this cafe on my way to Totowa for lunch. I hadn't seen it before and I'm glad my friend brought me here after we ate. The space inside is a lot bigger than I expected. From the outside it looks like a small cafe, but when you go in, you can see there are a lot of tables to study, catch up with friends, and enjoy coffee.

My friend ordered us 2 sea salt coffees. I found it very intriguing and wanted to try it- I never had anything like it. Make sure to mix the cream that floats on top with the rest of the coffee to enjoy! It was very tasty and we both enjoyed it.

The staff is friendly and the service is quick. The cafe is not too loud and the interior is nice with a lot of places to sit.

  2. Love their poopoo and injeolmi waffles!!! Not too sweet and ooey gooey 🙂 the ice cream is definitely a plus if you eat it with the waffles! The service is very nice and the space is little but worth coming at least once!

  3. Probably my least favorite bingsu in the area. Here they make it very stringy (I think they put more rice cakes) and very sweet (lots of condensed milk). I prefer the more dense and less sweet style of bingsu. My sweet tooth friends loved and devoured it so definitely comes down to preference.

Staff is very nice. Its definitely a good option for dessert after the Korean restaurants in the area. They have popular specialties so I may look into those for next time.

  4. Whoever invented rice cake waffles was a genius.

Don't get me wrong, I still love regular, soft, chewy waffles too. This place just takes the waffle game to another level.

I'm a big fan of rice cakes of all kinds. So when you put rice cakes + waffles together…. The combination is mindblowing. You still get the look and feel of a waffle but the taste is savory AND sweet.

My friend and I could not stop eating. Ingeolmi waffles are a must!

  5. Cute new spot in Broad Avenue! They have some super cute unique dishes that set them apart from the sea of cafes in Palisades Park, like their Pupu bread (I believe the filling is red bean paste and nutella? Super good, although a bit small!), and their Injeolmi waffles (lovely gooey center, crunchy exterior, not too sweet, and delicious) are fantastic!

Protip: topping off each delicious waffle-y bite with some of the vanilla ice-cream they give you is heavenly!
