  1. Didn't buy anything here due to the high calorie concern…but this place did look so attractive to me especially their brownie bites – they were pre-cut into small cubes so very easy for grab-n-eat. Store was also decorated in a cosy way.

I'm sure they taste like heaven…

  2. There are two choices in the brownie store, unwrapped and wrapped. The unwrapped brownies are $1.50 each while the big wrapped one are $2.95 each and the small wrapped babies are $1.95 each.

I definitely recommend the red velvet brownie (unwrapped), it was so good and pass my expectations! The cream cheese frosting taste was really light, usually the taste is really heavy whenever I have anything red velvet. I also expected the brownie to taste really cake like, but it wasn't! The texture was exactly like a brownie, the outside was crunchy while the inside was soft.

I also had another brownie, but totally forgot the name. That one was just okay, didn't really like it. I just remember that it had nuts in it.

I definitely wouldn't mind coming back to try more of their brownies, especially the unwrapped ones!

  3. I don't normally like brownies but this place makes the best ones. They are always soft and chewy and not too sweet. Definitely my favorite place to come when I visit Chelsea market.

  4. ** This review is for the mail order only**

While I have never traveled to the Fat Witch Bakery, I have received one of their brownies in a box I subscribe to (Serendipity by Little Lace Box).  While the brownie was soft and moist (which was impressive given it had shipped several days prior), there just wasn't a lot of flavor. It was chocolate-like, but not chocolate-y.

I perused their website and saw that in addition to purchasing items in their bakery they offer a lot of mail order options.  They offer multiple flavors (caramel, red velvet, blondie, walnut, mint) and several gift pack options.  The prices of the brownies were reasonable.  Can't comment on how much They charge to ship.

While I am glad I got the chance to try one, I wasn't overly impressed.  There are better online options.

  5. I'm actually really surprised this only has 3.5 stars. Located within Chelsea Market, you will have to brave the throngs of people that visit the market daily to get it it. It is well worth it though, I promise. The brownies are incredible. I highly recommend the Snow Brownie. It is like a sweet buttery heaven. You can't go wrong with the original, the chocolate walnut is great, the red velvet is wonderful, the double chocolate might kill you cause it's so damn good.  They come in regular sizes and "baby" sizes, which is typically what I go for so I can eat as many flavors as humanly possible. As the seasons change, they make some special flavors like pumpkin during the Fall. The prices are good and the calorie content is high, so be prepared.

  6. The Fat Witch has a great selection of brownies, something for everyone! Their vegan brownie is so deliciously moist and rich in chocolate that I had to do a double take to ask the server if he gave me a non-vegan brownie instead. However, it is very much on the sweet side, but as are most brownies. I recommend you coming here after 5pm, as that's when the unwrapped brownies are discounted at $1.50/square (these squares are quite generous in size). The interior is also very clean, which is very much appreciated. Overall, lots of variety at a great price (after 5pm!); I definitely recommend for those with a sweet tooth.

  7. We ordered some cookies and brownies online, and they arrived promptly.  At first, I did not like the cookies at all – they were kind of stale and breaks off too easily for a chewy cookie.  They did grow on me after a while… but still they were just ok – I wish they were a little bigger, a little more chewier…

  8. First time at Fat Witch Bakery. The name is so catchy and the marketing logo of this child like witch makes the whole brownie experience even more hysterical lol. We came here before dinner, right BEFORE dinner because my friend was so pressed to get his brownie since this is one of his favorite bakeries.

Prior to arriving we had one too many drinks at the art show so honestly any food reachable was what I needed to get my life in order lmao. I'm not a huge brownie fan but I was impressed by their variety and options of gluten free and vegan brownies. They had samples of Nutella "witch" which I tried but didn't really like because I'm not a milk chocolate fan. I like dark cacao chocolate ("that's what he said") . I loved the names on each brownie. It was a toss up between the walnut witch, mint witch or blondie witch. I chose the blondie witch. They wrapped it up in these cute white boxes with a mini witch in the right corner. I didn't open and eat it until I got back home the next day.

That blondie was so really good and moist! Definitely tasted the brown sugar and a hint of caramel. I wish I would've gotten more but I'm on a low carb and have to make my treats worthwhile and spaced out or homegirl will binge fa real fa real lol. Fat witch bakery is inside Chelsea market (across from the huge Google building). You won't miss the bakery it's next to Anthrolopogie when you walk in.
