  1. I can understand the mixed reviews here.
I came here from Brooklyn under recommendation from someone who wanted to try this place because in China, it's very good and popular.
We came here on a weekend at 2pm and there wasn't any customers in the place.
We had a quiet time to figure out what we wanted.
They don't offer you water or tea but instead give you the beverage menu. Not a good start. I think water should be offered regardless if the customer wants to order other drinks.
The waiter told us about the beverage menu so I picked the "Pick your own 3 fruits" drink and it came in a pitcher ($14). I got the orange, watermelon and carrot. It tasted the normally taste, but after a while of sitting there, the drink looked very diluted with water.
We got the spicy fish pot 金椒脆鱼锅 from the huge menu and then the waiter told us that it won't be enough and asked us to order more from the paper menu.

First we got the calamari salad and the cold crisp radish dish for about $7-$8 each. They come in dog-bowl-shaped plates. The calamari salad is worth the order but I can't say so about the radish dish. The sauce table doesn't offer much.

After ordering a fish pot, if you wanted to add more ingredients, they just add water to your fish pot, but charged you for a brand new "base soup" as if you didn't order the fish pot. I think that method is just wrong. The fish pot has too much peppers and salt. We added spinach, glass noodles, cuttlefish balls, winter-melon. For about $6-$7 for each ingredient is kinda pricey.

They have 2 bathrooms, which is clean with a heavy door.
At least they offered complimentary dessert with the amount of money we spent at this place.

  2. This place is more of a solid 3.5 stars – but since service and staff were super friendly from the moment we walked in, I will bump it up.

The fresh juice option is a major plus, I love fresh fruit and juices!! We ordered a pitcher of watermelon juice, it was refreshing but the juice could have been cooler, it was sort of room temperature. Perhaps the watermelon should be chilled before blending.

For starters we ordered 2 cold dishes -the calamari salad and the spicy sesame scallops. This was a great side dish to mix it up with the spicy fish/rib pot we ordered.

The pot is huge, we had enough leftovers wrapped up for our lunch the next day. Choose your spicy level (fish) and your preferred rib sauce – brown or black bean. It will arrive as a ying yang pot, I usually don't eat white rice, but be sure to grab a bowl of rice for this occasion. Rice was definitely made for these type of savory sauces! & I absolutely love the idea of the veggies added in! Delish.

My most favorite dish of all is the pineapple charpati! It's in between a crispy pancake and inidian Roti. The flavors were exploding in my mouth, it was fantastic. I am soooo looking forward to eat this again, and trying different savory and sweet options.

Staff was friendly and everyone was very attentive.  I will probably come back just for the pineapple charpati alone.

P.S. My boyfriend has ventured here for Hotpot once and does not recommend it.

  3. Great sercice and food.

We came here and tried the combination of their famous crispy fish pot with their shrimp pot. I've never had fish that was crispy before. When it arrived, I thought they gave us the wrong dish because it was very crispy, chewy and had tons of soft bones, and with a dirt taste in it. It did not taste like fish at all! I thought they gave us a squid of some sort.

When I called the manager over, he was surprisingly nice. And he explained to me that is the special kind of fish and that it is just not for everyone. And he offered to make us another new flounder fish fillet pot on top! How nice! And when the founder fish fillet pot arrived, it was hot, spicy with intense good flavor just how I liked it and it tasted like fish! Woohoo! And the shrimp spicy pot was delicious. Again with the spicy and numbing flavor that I love and the shrimps were big, fresh and crispy.

You can even byob for 15 dollars corkage fee here, which is amazing.

Overall it was a pleasant dinner. You can't beat good service and good food. Will be back again!

  4. We went there for hot fish pot. Not spicy and not crisp. My parent like it. I am not a fan. We end up our meal by hot pot, not impressed. Food was pricey and not worth the money. Will not return. By the way, the service was bad, we had to ask four times to get drinks refill

  5. The food was soso, but expensive. Not worth it to eat there.

  6. When I usually hear the word hotpot, I don't get excited, but after coming here on Monday night for dinner, I was really surprised. I went with my sisters and my dad and we ordered a few cold dishes – spicy roast beef, spicy beef tendon, a green onion charpati (although I wish we got the banana charpati because I heard that one is very good) and a flounder with black pepper beef rib hot pot. We also ordered plum juice (good to mix with spicy foods) and watermelon juice along with tea for the table. My favorite was the black pepper beef rib hot pot and the flounder. I literally ate 10 of the black pepper ribs lol, my family were upset at me, but that's how good it was!

The ambiance in here is quite noisy. My dad kept commenting on how it is a "young" person's place to eat, but he did enjoy the food overall as well. I wish we had gotten the king crab, we saw many tables purchase the king crab for dinner. It must be their specialty and best seller there so I will definitely have to return to just try that!

  7. The food is good, atmosphere is good, I love their 飞饼,the banana flavor one is the best, price is little high, but worth it. If their service is little faster it will be awesome, too long to wait for food and they forgot our rice.

  8. I came to visit this place with my friends last Saturday. I fell in love with the layout and the decoration at once when stepping into the restaurant.

The seafood was fresh and cooked professionally. Service here was up to five stars!

Strongly recommend for those who love to try seafood another way!
