  1. Ambiance: it's spacious, filled with a mix of large and small tables and chairs that have seen some better days.  There is an upper floor with rooms as well, fingers crossed you don't get those, the dimsum carts are generally on the first floor

Service: two words "it's flushing" for those who eat in flushing you know what that means… Yup service is not the first thing in their business model rather how fast can we get you in our establishment and out.  However when it comes to dimsum on Saturday and Sunday you will wait a bit for a table if you come after 10:30 am.  Once seated you're ready to eat but of course the dimsum lady with the cart of food you're looking for is hard to find and never passed your area!

Food: not bad, they do have s decent variety which is great my favorites here are the shrimp dumplings, pork rib, beef ribs and fried dough wrapped on rice wrap.

All in all check it out for dimsum but go before 10:30 on the weekends so you don't have to wait long.

  2. Dim Sum is mediocre here …I have come multiple times , but the first time was the best .
Had a luncheon here for about 70 people here before (course menu) that was pretty good …
For Dim Sum I guess it depends on the chef of the day …..

  3. First experience of Dim Sum at Jade Asian Restaurant. It has been the better service experiences so far among all my dim sum experiences in NYC: nice big hall, very frequent carts with all kinds of dim sums; prompt tea and water service; friendly staff.

Food-wise, I think most of the dishes are average at best. I definitely had better ones than this place.

Price: This is where 2 stars were taken. For 2 person with 6 dimsums – we paid around $30. I felt this was on a pricey side for dimsum considering prices are even at more competitive levels in the city.

  4. If you're not Chinese it doesn't matter they'll still speak Chinese to you lol but the selection and dishes here are pretty good. They make rounds frequently. I came around 1030am on a Saturday and got seated right away. This place is huge and a lot of Chinese weddings are held here. The service was good, they were attentive and overall it's a good place for dim sum. I would recommend. I've been to Asian jewels and it wasn't on par.

  5. Jade Asian offers dim sum daily aside from regular lunch, dinner, catering and banquet meals. The dim sum cart ladies start from the very back near the kitchen and make rounds until they need to restock their cart. The daily specials are listed on the door, a few dim sums for only $1!

The dinner portions here are good in size, quality, and taste. I've come to this restaurant on multiple occasions and the parking across the street at the municipal lot is easy. When you come for dim sum, try to be seated more towards the kitchen so you are able to score the most fresh and hot dim sum plates as they come out from the kitchen. One pet peeve of mine is that they use cilantro quite heavily in a lot of their dim sum…including beef balls, beef rice crepes, shrimp and scallop deep fried rolls, chiu chow dumplings, and even beef tripe. So if you aren't a big fan of cilantro you may want to steer clear of these!

There is also a $1 "tea fee" charged per person which is expected from a lot of Chinese restaurants. Even those who do not drink tea will be charged for it…

  6. Came here for a work holiday dinner party on a Saturday afternoon…

They didn't bring us any sauces (sweet and sour, soy sauce, etc) and we ended up having to ask the table next to us to use theirs…they didn't offer any water or juices …The meat in the dishes were awful…The sauces on the dishes were also terrible…. The server never came around until we finished the meal and they brought the to go boxes for the customers to pass.. we wanted desserts and it took a long time for them to bring bring that out…the server hovered until we packed up all the left overs…Terrible food, terrible service, very run down for a well known restaurant… I'm sure there are much better options….

  7. I have to say that this caters highly to Asian culture, and not so much to American-Asian. The food is that of any dim sum, mostly dumplings and sausage and buns and all, but most of it is unrecognizable. (Who here knows what a Yu tou dumpling is? If the English helps, Yu tou are Taro, but good luck finding a server who knows the English for it) the food is good but I'm biased and used to the food, all in all its a good place to try out but it's not going to be for everyone.

There is a huge perk to this place though, assuming you manage to find the way through the maze known as Queens – the place comes with a parking lot right across from the entrance, and the rates are great for NYC. One hour is 2 dollars I believe and 3 hours was $5. If you don't mind the slightly shady environment, this is a good place for lunch.

  8. I have come here a few times now, and the food is definitely good but not the best.

In the morning they serve dim sum, and the food is usually really hot and fresh.  If you come after 10am, you most likely will have to wait.  A wait can range from 10-45 minutes, and of course, the wait time varies depending on the size of your group.  You might be seated faster if you are willing to share a table with strangers.  I am not a bit fan of waiting, and if you come before 10am, or closer to 9:30am, there is most likely no wait time.

The service is very fast for both AM and PM.  There are a lot of dim sum cart ladies around, just wave at them and tell them what you want, or you can simply point if you don't know what it's called.

I like that they don't have cilantro in the beef balls and beef flat noodles, so that's definitely a big plus.
