  1. I simply cannot help but throw all good words to Kobrick, as the second I stepped in (sweating and thirsty, eagerly looking for something to cure my tiredness after a short run), I found myself fell in love with the place.

Actually I have been looking to try Kobrick for a while, when my friend told me how professional they are in terms of their cocktail coffee drinks (which you would self-prove by looking at the cool machine displayed right at the counter).

Instead, I went with their latte drink. I wouldn't say it smooth, however the bitterness balanced itself quite well with the natural scent of coffee bean. Barista was also super friendly and taught me a lot about the shop and specifically, that machine which caught my full attention.

Chelsea is definitely one of those areas that are never lack of decent coffee shops, nevertheless something as exotic and unique as Kobrick stands out naturally.

  2. 4 shots of espresso in a large latte?  Yes, please!

After a class are KORE around the corner, I went on a Yelp search for a nice coffee boutique that isn't Starbucks.  I love me some niche-y coffee shops.  Yelp took me to Kobrick Coffee, located right in the heart of the Meatpacking District.

Though I took my coffee to go, I did notice the comfortable, homey and cozy feel of the shop.  Seems like a nice place to chill out in the mornings… maybe not so much study.

The espresso here was strong, fresh, and I loved that it came with 4 shots in my latte versus the 2 that I get at most places.  It wasn't too bitter or burnt and there was excellent skim milk to espresso ratio.  That's a delicious latte, y'all.

Not much else to say here, except that Kobrick should be your go-to spot in Meatpacking for your daily caffeine needs.  I wish this was closer to my office or home.

  3. It's a coffee shop…it's a bad…it's…BOTH! A very interesting concept. Anyway, I didn't have any alcoholic drinks here, though they looked great. My friend and I stopped in for a quick caffeine fix. The coffee is delicious and the barista-bartenders are awesome and put a lot of care and love into your perfectly crafted coffee concoction. We sat at the bar and listened to them chatting about making the perfect milk foam heart on cappuccinos. So cute. My only criticism is their tea selection is sad. They only had green and black, and ran out of hibiscus. However, for $3 you get a fairly large pot of tea to yourself, and it's quality.

  4. Cute little cafe serving up some really strong coffee.

I ordered a regular coffee from here once and I got super jittery after finishing. So I don't recommend for those who are sensitive to caffeine, but they know how to serve up a mean drink. The coffee is smooth and they have options like almond milk, skim milk and soy milk for all preferences – I know biddies love their almond milk, I hear them order it on the regular.

My favorite is the matcha latte. Not many places have matcha as an option, but Kobrick has got em and they have a pretty strong blend. By the time I got to the bottom of my drink, all I tasted was matcha powder. I had to mix it with some more hot milk, which is great for me because it's like getting 1.5 drinks for the price of one.

Towards the back is a small seating area. Not very big, but enough tables for a sit down in the morning to enjoy your coffee/drink. I don't think they have free wifi, but I connected to the gansevoort wifi, which wasn't too bad for basic things like email and basic internet surfing.

A good stop in for mornings and afternoon pick me ups!

  5. Considering the area, this place was pretty lively for 10am on a Friday morning. Both indoor and outdoor seating, with plenty of room in the back to enjoy a meal/coffee.

Order at the front and they'll bring your meal to you. Through Yelp pictures, had to get the Wild Mushroom Toast ($9) and an Iced Mocha ($5.50). The mocha is really rich in chocolate flavor, with enough sweetness to balance out the bitter coffee. Tons of mushrooms on the toast (it was almost an even ratio) that are cooked well and not too oily. Satisfyingly light meal.

Prices are a little higher than similar coffee shops. Service is efficient and they have outlets at the comfy seating area in the back. Perfect place to chill in the morning.

  6. This coffee bar is adorable. I loved the old fashioned decor. The barista was friendly and my dirty chai was tasty. The only downside was that the cafe itself was a bit warmer than what would be comfortable. Regardless, I would return!

  7. Needed a place to cool off and get something to drink near the super crowded Chelsea Market area. This little coffee shop was the perfect place. Staff is super friendly and they're doing some cool things with their coffee; on the menu I saw coffee cocktails as well as many other unique drinks, including a juice cleanse and teas. I tried nitro coffee for the first time here and it was alright… served with lots of foam and a side of milk at room temperature. Can't say I loved it but interesting to try! They also have food and the decor and atmosphere is very laid back and nice.

  8. Stumbled upon this gem on a rainy sunday afternoon.  I walked int and instantly fell in love with this parlor like space that was reminiscent of the "bars" in Paris and Italy.  I live in LA, so these tiny European style coffee bars do no exist, at least I don't know about them.  I pulled up a stool and parked my butt on the bar and ordered an Americano and a ricotta and honey toast.
While I waited I took in the scenery…the vibe in here was great.  It was lively and bustling, but not too loud or sceney, despite its proximity to Bagatelle.  The bartender and fellow staff were on point.  They weren't super bubbly or chatty, but efficient and attentive.  My coffee was strong and rich and my toast was satisfying….although I didn't love the micro greens on top, but I just pulled them off.
This spot also seems to be the watering hole for all the beautiful people that work in the surrounding hot spots (Soho House, Sugar Factory, Bagatelle).  I made friends with quite a few of them while I intruded on their convos about work gripes etc.  My intended brief stay became a two hour visit with my new NY besties that started with coffee and ended with wine.  Did I mention they have a full bar too?
This spot is great.  Great coffee, cozy feel, fun vibe and good service.  I only wish I had something like this near me.
