  1. 4 stars on very impressed modern decor, comfy seats

    DIM SUM REVIEW very poor.

Typically, dim sum is usually comes in a cart with full of surprises. Specially for those who have no Idea whats in every dish.

This new location are trying to do it HK style which is you have to read the 20 items that they have and write quantity so they can bring you A LA CARTE (yes only 20 not much comparing to the one next door) but as soon as you see the prices on each dish I almost walked out of the place. A medium size dim sum is already $3.75!????? And specialty dish cost $6.95 almost the price of a lunch special dish. Thats INSANE!.

Only ordered 4 items of dim sum for 4 people (So sad) we usually order at least 12 items and still will be under $40 on the restaurant next to us. I am affraid the total will come out in this place if I order 12 of them. The reason is because it was very minimal and i am so used to visualize in person and order what I see it.

Regular menu is very typical, but yet  tad pricey. Order a dish of "Kong Chau Ngau Hor" Beef with noodles (Typical Cantonese dish) ($13.00) . Taste ok, but didnt see much Beef in my dish.

Service was a bit comfusing, you see them walk in and out rushing. They need to have a better system (i guess is new and needs time to get used to it).

Not sure if its worth it for Dim Sum. But is like a High end cantonese restaurant IMO.

  2. Interior is nice but other than that everything else was lacking.  Went here with family and was excited that there would be another alternative for dimsum in the area but alas, left very disappointed.  I usually do not give 2 stars unless I feel that the restaurant is in desperate need of improvement.

Upon arriving we were seated immediately and we're given the list of dishes and we can write how much we wanted of each item.  First thing that strike me was the price…PRETTY EXPENSIVE DIMSUM IF YOU ASK ME.  $4-6 depending on what you choose and dimsum are small portioned dishes…maybe the price was high because of the area but we thought "hey if it's that price it should be pretty good" and went on ordering a few dishes.  And again,  we were disappointed again.

The beef wrapped in rice roll that we recieved was COMPLETELY RAW ON THE INSIDE (somebody cue Gordon Ramsay please) It was literally red,  I can understand if it was a slight pink and would've let it go but no,  the beef was so raw that you can still hear it moo-ing, no thanks.  We told the waiter about the problem,  and he didn't seem surprised or concerned.  But he brought our dish back and we were eventually given a replacement…but seriously how can a place that "specializes in dimsum" mess this up.  The other dishes we ordered were not impressive…but that beef cheung fun was the "ultimate bad highlight" of the meal.

Summary: nice and modern interior,  overpriced very mediocre expensive unimpressive (the list can go on) food.  Save yourself and go to northern manor (which can also be pricey but you get better food) or Flushing.

  3. We took mom here to celebrate her 60th birthday! We were all really excited to try this new upscale dim sum restaurant in Little Neck (literally a few feet away from the Manor). I have to say the decor is absolutely gorgeous! I truly do love the renovation of the restaurant, but we didn't think it was the right fit for dim sum. They didn't leave much room for the dim sum carts to go around and you basically have to order the dim sum from a piece of a paper and the wait staff will bring you the food. Now, here comes the problem. THEY NEED TO HIRE MORE PEOPLE! There were 2-3 people working the floor and there were at least 20 tables occupied. We had so much dirty dishes piled up on our table that left us no room for new food to come. Also, what drove me nuts was that they tried to serve our table with dirty utensils and bowls that had rice stains all over and dried vegetables on the serving spoon for our soup. Our family joked around about them splitting in my food because I sent back the dirty utensils multiple times. The food was decent…but they have to get their sh*t together and hire more people.

  4. Great new place that offers dim sum everyday. The service here is one of the best that we received at a Chinese restaurant. It's a great alternative (and dare I say better) than Northern Manor next door. We came here on a Sunday with a party of 11 and were seated right away. The carts were a little sparse, but they remembered what we wanted and brought it over when they had it. It was crowded but we didn't feel rushed. The dim sum seems a little more expensive but the quality is phenomenal. It's not as greasy and heavy as other places.
We also came here for an early lunch on a Friday. The dim sum is even better because everything is cooked to order. This process is a little slower but the food was delicious. You also get to pick off a sheet, so you can see what they have to offer. Again, the service was excellent.
The only thing I'm not a fan of is the parking situation. It's very difficult to find a spot on the weekend. I wish they had a parking lot. But that won't stop us from returning!

  5. We came for an impromptu dinner on Mother's Day evening when we found out that the neighboring restaurant was fully booked.  The manager seated our large party even though we didn't have a reservation with the caveat that we had to finish within 90 mins or so.

I was a bit worried when I read other people's reviews of this place but when our food came, we were really happy (the chef must have had his Wheaties that morning).  The lobster was really fresh and all the pieces were incredibly juicy and meaty (no dried up shriveled claws here).  Fish maw soup was chock full of ingredients and yummy.  Pork chops were a hit with the kids and old standards like mayo shrimp with walnuts and crispy chicken were really good.

Decor is nice since the restaurant is new and service is about what you expect from a Chinese restaurant.  I might have caught them on their best day but I'm willing to go back again to find out.

  6. The food here is a bit pricey but it is understandable when you look at the nice interior/decor. They have a pretty extensive menu from various seafood items to "typical" Chinese food. We got two lobsters and the pan-fried noodles with seafood. The lobsters were typically sized, and seasoned in the southern Chinese way (if that means anything to you…) Nothing amazing but it filled my craving at the time. The pan-fried noodles were also good because they were crunchy, but nothing to rave over. Overall this is a solid place but I would probably only come back if I were going with someone who enjoys nicer decor because to me I wouldn't pay the extra money for it.

  7. New Dim Sum spot in Little Neck Queens NY.  Place reminds of Hong Kong a little bit, new, clean and modern.

During Dim sum brunch times, you order the different types and quantity of dishes you want on a their selection form in the beginning and hand it to the staff.

There's a few carts rolling around the place, but the main source of your food will be via your order form.  I prefer ordering my food on the form versus getting them from the traditional carts, seems like it is more cleaner and fresher when I know it coming out steaming hot from the kitchen.

They have most of the popular dim sum dishes, like steamed ribs, beef rice rolls, shrimp rice rolls, chicken feet, beef balls, taro/turnip cakes.  They all tasted fine and great.

The main dishes made to order from the kitchen were on point and fairly priced.  I ordered the seafood mixed rice noodle dish and the ying yang fried rice.  They both were packed with fresh ingredients, tasted awesome and their portions were family style.

Service was very good and they were very attentive in refilling my tables' tea and giving us new plates when they started to get dirty or pilling up with bones from the chicken feet dish.

Small parking lot in the back, but if its full, best to park on the metered street in front or park around the neighborhood where there is free parking and just walk a few steps.

Comparing this new place with Northern Manor next door, I would actually come here first since the seating is more comfortable and place is less chaotic of what you typically see in busy dim sum restaurants and having people wait for the carts to come to their table…only to see that the dish you wanted is already taken by other tables along the way.
