  1. While waiting for a friend on the East Side we decided to chill here and have some water as NY traffic takes forever to meet up someone as the train was delayed :P….  ended up ordering some Falafel and humus appetizer.  We weren't really hungry just wanted a bite and check the food out.

The spot is pretty nice and the insides are well organized with enough space, this review is at 12am in the morning so i wasn't expecting a big jam here at all.

The humus was amazing …really great you could not stop munching on it , they jsut gave us a piece of bread so we had to ask for 3 more as it was 4 guys munching , which they obliged with and the bread was hot and nicely oiled. The falafel were not real falafel but ptotato cutlets n quite bland and tasteless. The salad that came with it aah just went perfect with the humus we had.

Do visit the spot as the folks eating whatever they were mentioned it was quite tasty and well cooked.

  2. What a wonderful place to dine outside.

The lobster ravioli was divine, and so was the selection of drinks!

Yes, this review is short. But I just had to say something about it! Keep in mind, I came here AFTER dinner lol. It just looked like the perfect spot to eat and drink after a long night with a friend.

    Will be returning for sure!

  3. This is a terrific Mediterranean restaurant!

Me and the family were walking around the East Village, trying to decide if we should go out to eat or bring something home. We were considering the Mermaid Inn as I have been their several times and their food is good, but my older daughter is a finicky eater and made it clear, NO SEAFOOD! Then we saw the awning for Local92 and the menu looked very promising so we figured we would give it a try.

When we sat down, we saw that the menus were on the place mats – nice touch for an Israeli Tapas place. You can keep ordering!!!

    We had (a lot):

Hummus Trio – good, but a little too much curry for my taste
Lebane – a soft cheese spread over pita – delicious.
Popcorn Cauliflower – A lightly fried cauliflower – addictive!
Duck Fried Rice – Terrific! The duck was perfect with the long grain rice.
Ricotta Beet Gnocchi – Excellent and unexpected menu item!
Schnitzel Fingers – Chicken fingers – my girls loved them
Israeli Empanadas – Terrific, filled with beef and marinated olives
    Plenty of PITA!! Terrific favor.

The cocktails were great and the service was top notch. We definitely want to come back and try their purple babaghanoush.

  4. Omg this was so good. Found this place on Yelp and made a reso though didn't end up needing it. We started with cocktails …  I had the fig mojito which was so good everyone at the table ended up ordering one. A couple friends tried martinis, also great. One person ordered some lavender cocktail which was so bad she sent it back and switched to the mojito. Drinks were $12 each and glasses of wine about the same.
For food, we tried the hummus app to start. SO GOOD. The pita it was served with was some of the best I've ever had. Fluffy light and perfect. One person got the corn soup which was really great too. Another ordered the soup but never got it and ended up cancelling. For meals, I did the falafel platter which was actually an app I guess. Listen, that falafel was some of the best I have ever had. Very garlicky, beware if you dont care for that.  It was served with a tomato and cucumber salad and more hummus. One of us got the gnocchi and he liked it but didn't love it. Another had a salad she really enjoyed and the 4tf had some eggplant tomato dish I don't recall name of but she loved it.  Service was very good too. So, overall food was fantastic but one star lost for a couple things. Ambiance was great too, a really cool rustic-y place with great food.

  5. Had a lovely dinner here with my boyfriend. The servers were nice, the food was absolutely divine, and the ambience was both cute/quirky and romantic. Most of the decor is repurposed kitchenware, which is super cute when paired with the dim lighting and rustic feel of the restaurant.

    What we ordered:

    Mushroom Hummus
Awesome. Hummus is the grainy, Israeli type, and they give you a whole lot.

    Ravioli
This is quite literally some of the best I've ever had. It comes in a mushroom, pepper, onion sauce that is deliciously caramelized. The spinach & cheese stuffing makes it even better.

    Shakshouka with Ground Beef
He got the shakshouka, and the sauce was perfect. A tiny bit spicy, tons of peppers, tons of flavors, just delicious. The eggs, however, came out completely cooked, which he didn't mind but I really don't like.

As for their wines by the glass, we tried several and they were nothing special.

That being said, this was a wonderful place to come for dinner, and my amazing ravioli made this one of the best meals I've had recently. I'd definitely be back to try more on their wide-ranging menu.

  6. Had an okay dinner last night. Menu indicated it was middle eastern Israeli food which was not apparent at the entrance. Food was good but given the confusion from the menu, it was hard to know what to order or what was ordered. It was $35 per person before drinks & tax – which came to about $60 pp.  maybe because it was pricy for what it was, the place was not crowded and was very comfortable.  I would come here again if better places in the neighborhood was full.

  7. Happened upon this place during happy hour.

Good food, the sangria was nice, but it seemed a little too weak on the wine.
I ordered the ceviche app and while tasty and very fresh, the bread was a tad stale underneath the buttery toastedness, which was unfortunately distracting to the delicate raw fish topping.

It's a little too expensive in my opinion outside of happy hour, but nice atmosphere and friendly waiters.

  8. Outdoor seating lovers, rejoice! Local92 is excellent for people watching, and carries its exceptional ambiance all the way outdoors. This is a great spot to invite just about any one of your friends. Especially friends who like sangria (which realistically should be all of your friends, I'm just saying. . .) — with choices of red, white, AND rose.

This place is vegetarian, vegan, and meat-eater friendly.
