  1. This is an aggregate review of many visits to Noho Star. It's a nice quiet restaurant and has a decent menu. Prices are pretty good for the area.

I've never been steered wrong. The burger is solid, the sandwiches are good and the service is quick and friendly. If you're looking for a good breakfast or lunch spot then check it out.

  2. This quirky Greenwich Village spot hasn't been removed of its original crazy decor and watered down to a corporate aesthetic.  So I hope you'll appreciate the originality even if you can't wrap your mind around it.

The prices are average for the area- and as far as places that open for breakfast before 9am with table service, you'll pay the same across the street at Le Pain, and less than Lafayette up the street.

The coffee is a bottomless cup- which is hard to come by in the Village.  The brioche French toast was spectacularly flavorful and heavenly.  The egg scramble bruschette was flavorful and filling but still light enough to feel healthy.  The home potatoes are done with rosemary, scallion, and onion.  The service has always been on it and I never felt like anything was delayed, ignored, or missed.  A solid choice for breakfast, brunch, and lunch- I have yet to try it for dinner.

  3. Came here for brunch on Sunday and the host seated us right away and within minutes we had our drink order.

Decently priced I went with the Eggs Idaho which was pretty yummy; sunny side eggs, potato pancakes, and sausage. Cooked perfectly with a great crust on the potato pancakes, the eggs were delightful and I went the chicken sausage which was savory.

Service was good, they came back to ask if we wanted dessert but we were so full from our meal that we skipped out.

Overall, this place is good just not a place I would go out of my way to go to.

  4. Had pork belly sandwich, dry – not very good. Beer selection is poor.

  5. Enjoyed a pleasant brunch at the Noho Star last weekend, after my party tried to go to Jane a few streets away only to be told there'd be a 90-minute wait. So we walked around and stumbled upon the Noho Star.

    The Good:
    – We had no trouble getting seated and even got to eat outside! It was very happy, as their patio wasn't too cramped and is situated right in a sunny patch (on a not too noisy street). It was very pleasant! I forgot how awesome eating outside with sunglasses is.
    – The food was very nice. Nothing spectacular, but a solid brunch. My mom had an omelette which was cheesy and filling, while my friend ordered the pancakes, which were also nice. Both perfectly adequate, but overall forgettable. I had the arctic char with bagels/cream cheese/toppings which was satisfying, but also $16 which leads me to…

    The Not So Good:
    – It was overall pretty pricey. I know, I know. It's New York. And it's brunch. And it's not a shit-hole, so what do you expect…but still…$16 for a bagel/salmon? Sort of intense. I didn't even order a Bloody Mary because I was worried I wouldn't be able to pay my mortgage. Not really…but a little bit…
    – The service was fine. Nothing great…our waitress wasn't particularly helpful or charming. But she also didn't mess anything up.

I wish I could give this place a 3.5, since a 3 feels sort of harsh considering there was no drama and everything was pretty good…but still…4 stars feels much too high for a brunch this (fairly) forgettable.

  6. More like the NoHo One Star. The tequila here was tequila. The food?  I have no clue how it tastes because we never received it. We waited forty five minutes. We couldn't even get the waitress to bring out the check or provide info on our order. We left cash on the table and left the establishment.

  7. What an amazing spot.  I feel like I found a little hidden gem near my job.  First couple of times I was at this establishment it was to grab takeout for lunch.  While sitting at the bar grabbing a glass of wine and waiting for the food I instantly feel in love with this place.  The bartender (Haru) was extremely kind and knowledgeable about their food and liquors.   He definitely left a great impression that lead me to order from them once a week for takeout…..well that and the awesome food. I ordered the chicken club three times because I enjoyed it that much.  The curried mayo seals the deal and the bacon is a nice thick cut.

Today I dined in at the bar for lunch. It's the perfect place for a quiet lunch . I also tried something new  that the bartender requested and fell in love with the Noho burger.  I got it medium and it will was cooked perfectly.  It had avocado, watercress, and bacon.   I have been told that the brunch is amazing.  So I have another reason to come besides just the burger and chicken club sandwich.

Thank you NoHo Star, you got a regular !!!!!

  8. "What is this place? A no talking center?"

I have lived in this city for 13 years and I visited this place for the first time on a early Sunday evening. Buuuuuttttttt,  the results were very disappointing.  The main issue that I had with this place was the bartender, who said that I was speaking "too loudly". For the amount of people that were at the restaurant the place already was fairly loud.  The bartender said that I was "too loud" or rather the manager said that I was being too loud. Funny, when we asked to speak to this so called manager who was giving the order that I was too loud, no manager showed up. As someone who has visited quite a few bars in NYC over the past 13 years, it is easy to find a manager to take care of a customer's complaint.

Whatever, I guess this place always will be just a fixture on Fafayette St.
