  1. Love the all the oatmeal options… Sweet and savory.  I usually go for their "signature bowls" because when make my own it's never quite right.  Great iced tea as well.  The muffins are straight up addictive.

  2. 3.5 Stars

The allure here is that you can add a lot of variety to your steel cut oats or just get a suggested combination (the signature bowls). There's fresh fruits, dried fruits, nuts and seeds, sweet or savory add-one, and different dollops and drizzles.

This oatmeal base itself isn't my favorite since I prefer a different brand than Quaker Oats. The oats here don't seem nutty or chewy enough. The Indian Spice addition was quite soothing though – a combo of crystallized ginger, cinnamon, and cardamom. I didn't taste any coconut milk and the top of the oatmeal was rather watery from all the liquid.

It might be interesting to come back to try another flavor combination.

  3. I HAVE to come back for oatmeal. Went in for a quick coffee after I'd just eaten. Super cute vibe, mostly students inside. Sad to see it closes at 5! I'll make it back for oatmeal sometime soon!

  4. When I lived in the area, I literally came here every other day.  You might be wondering how I could possibly eat so much oatmeal without getting bored, and my answer would be variety!  This place offers not only sweet AND savory combinations, but also the option to customize!  The strawberry shortcake is my go-to combination in terms of oatmeal, but I'll add that you should try the maple oatmeal scone as well!

  5. I absolutely can't get enough of oatmeal. As much as I love it, OatMeals puts my homemade oatmeal to shame.

I came across this place unfortunately RIGHT after I just ate breakfast. I was so bummed that I just ate and wasn't hungry for a big bowl of oatmeal. I did end up splurging on a banana oatmeal muffin, which was very good and filling.

This place is a really awesome concept. It's like, your grandma's oatmeal meets frozen yogurt bars meets gourmet coffee shop. I saw they have a ton of different topping options to choose from. Basically everything from chia seeds to fruit. They also had a large menu of different oatmeal options, which all sounded amazing. Like, who knew oatmeal could be so delicious?

They also have coffees, lattes and espresso, which makes it all around the perfect morning.

Next time I come here, I will be ready and hungry– especially for oatmeal.

  6. Alright, I managed to return to OatMeals and I left far more satisfied than my last visit. My boyfriend and I stopped in for a fairly late breakfast and the place was surprisingly empty. Had it not been such a beautiful day we probably would've sat there, but instead we chose to eat in a park nearby. He got the Elvis (peanut butter, banana, bacon, honey, sea salt) and an iced coffee while I got the quatre fruit rouges (strawberries, raspberries, raisins, dried cherries, honey). Having learned from my previous visit I asked them to add peanut butter in order to give my dish more body.

My boyfriend's order was by far the best of the two. The saltiness of the bacon REALLY worked with the peanut butter and oats. He wound up having to wrestle his bowl away from me. My dish was good, but if I hadn't ordered peanut butter it definitely would've been pretty weak. I think the best item on the menu is definitely the Elvis, but if you added peanut butter to the Canadian it could be amazing.

I would definitely recommend a breakfast at OatMeals, but if you don't add peanut butter (or some type of sauce) expect to be a bit disappointed.

  7. Love love LOVED OatMeals.  Now I must preface by saying I am an oatmeal lover by nature but this place is great.  It's a tiny little shop only a few seats but I didn't mind since no one is normally tying to sit down for oatmeal right, so I just came for oatmal to go…  You can either make your own or get one of the Signature Bowls in small medium or large.  They had SO many toppings that I couldnt decide on what to make on my own.. the guy at the counter was super friendly and helpful I told him i wanted something with peanut butter and he suggested the "Hot Date" and I am SO GLAD HE DID.   It was amazing.  It had dates, pecans, their signature granola, peanut butter and honey.  It was seriously an amazing combination.  I can't wait to come back and try another one of their signature oatmeal bowls !!! yummmmmm

  8. Small, quaint coffee shop near NYU. Good coffee, but the space is rather small. Also, it might not be the best place to get some work done as there are no outlets available to plug in your phone or laptop.
