  1. The food is here really not good. The only things worth ordering are probably the wings. Service is really really slow and pretty inept.  It took us over and hour and a half to have a quick brunch

  2. The first time I came in for a late night drink and appetizers/ snack with a girlfriend: But since then I have gone back for dinner, brunch, drinks, etc.

    Pros:
    – Staff is super pleasant
    – Not to loud
    – Modestly priced
    – Large food selection
    – great extra spicy wings
    -GREAT Oyster Rockefeller
    -The drinks are amazing
    – My favorite salad from previous time is the Derby

    Cons:
    – One bathroom
    – Pending what seat you get can be a little uncomfortable/ tiny space.

I do recommend The brunch atmosphere during the summer time– It's perfect.

  3. This place doesn't have fish sticks. FYI. Heads up before u head here. Does NOT have fish sticks. Go here if you do NOT want fish sticks. With a name like Teddys, you'd think they'd have fish sticks. And NO I DIDNT LOSE THE HOT SAUCE TOP!!!

  4. I've been to Teddy's quite a few times–it's a convenient neighborhood spot to get a beer and a bite to eat. The food is hit or miss, but I do really like the breakfast burrito and the catfish sandwich. Mostly I like that it's never that crowded and it's extremely close to home. However, based on a recent experience, I won't be returning (yes, this is one of those reviews that focuses on an isolated incident).

Long story short: I stopped in on my way home one night to get dinner and was peacefully sitting at the bar eating my food when a drunk regular came in and started making unwelcome advances. The bartender told him to leave me alone, which he did for a few minutes, but then he started up again, at which point I firmly told him to stop. The bartender was standing there, so I said, "What the fuck?!" and he then told the guy he really had to stop or he would have to leave or move. The guy then got offended and said he was leaving (but didn't go anywhere of course). The bartender then backpedalled and said he didn't have to leave, but that he should move. Naturally, the guy didn't move. Meanwhile I asked for my check, got a mumbled apology from the bartender, and left without finishing my food or my drink.

I get that the bartender didn't want to piss off a regular and that he was trying to be diplomatic, but ultimately I feel like he should have been more insistent that the guy move away. Instead, I was put in a situation where I felt like I had to leave because I was too uncomfortable to stay. So, the bartender got to keep his regular, but he lost another regular in the making.

  5. Came for a late night dinner with a friend.

We decided on the chicken panini sans peppers. She informs us they're premade so they can't take out the peppers. I'm like, PRE? MADE? In a restaurant? Guat?

So we're like umm let's look over the menu again, don't want anything that isn't fresh or made to order. She's like noo it IS fresh. I'm like didn't you say it was premade, as in previously made? Yes. So then it's not fresh. She had the nerve to say "well that's your opinion"

Um no, it is actually a fact. If something was pre made, previously constructed, made prior to me ordering it – then it is, in fact, not made to order. Oh but it is made to order, she says, they take it out and toast it for me.

I'm like well alright! This conversation isn't going anywhere, so we ordered drinks.

We got the ginger drink which was absolutely perfect. We had 3 each.

We decide on the Cuban sandwich with fries. I straight up had 2 bites and pushed it aside. It was completely inedible and definitely tasted premade as well.

Luckily, that waitress stopped serving us and another very nice girl took over.

  6. We came here for breakfast Sunday morning (6/12).
There is plenty of outdoor seating!

What to get: the FRENCH TOAST. Amazing. Comes with caramelized bananas and nutella. So freaking good. It was dessert for breakfast. My friend and I shared this in addition to our own breakfast orders.

What we ate after the french toast was underwhelming. I had the biscuits and saw mill gravy. A little too heavy on the salt and the poached eggs were way overcooked. The gravy overpowered the rest of the flavors. The bacon was good though! But overall, the biscuits and gravy breakfast from Allswell (also in Williamsburg) is much, MUCH better.
My friend ordered the breakfast plate. She always gets eggs over medium but these were overcooked (seems to be a reoccurring theme here). Also, she said her eggs were greasy. Ughhhhhhh. Thank god we had some french toast beforehand.

Our server was so so great. She was attentive and friendly and personable. Loved her.

They offer the usual alcoholic brunch beverages as well but we stuck to water and coffee which was good. Overall, not a terrible choice for the neighborhood especially because there was no wait to be seated. Stay away from the eggs though.

  7. Best chicken wings in Brooklyn
Cocktails are wonderful, nice choice of beers
    Never had a bad meal
Burgers are solid, Cubano is legit
Brisket, fish and nachos are all good choices
I always have a great time whenever I go there.

  8. Good Bar & Grill inside and out. It's slightly hot but not too hot, so we walk in and the air conditioning inside is nice with the dim lighting in a sunny afternoon is a nice setting. The inside is a classic wood decor with a bar and a handful of patrons. Casual. Relaxed. Nice.

We were greeted by a pleasant host and then our waitress. All three of the staff were pleasant and friendly and helpful.

Sitting outside is not the most scenic but it's an okay place to eat, read, work on your laptop, converse with the view of the local neighborhood and pedestrians walking by.

    Half Pound Burger:

    1. The bun was above average.
    2. The beef inside was pretty good (As waitress asked: I got mine medium rare and it was that)
    3. Topping: Egg + Tomatoes + Lettuce + Sliced Pickles on side. But Awesomeness is is the Pulled Pork topping. It was delicious…perfectly sweet and soft and flavorful.

Those mini side potatoes were soft and flavorful.

I'm not sure what my fellow diners ordered but they said their food was good also. Definitely a place to go back to, hope next time will be good also.
